Beautiful playing by a master musician. Grappelli is probably the best soloist of all time, on any instrument.

I used to meet Stephane regularly when we were neighbours in the 16th arrondissement. He was an utterly charming companion. I would take my guitar and we spent many a happy hour playing the standards we both loved so much. He wasn’t much of a one for musical advice, it came so naturally to him, but he did counsel me on another matter. “Moleskin trousers! In music as in life, you must be comfortable to be at your best.” He swore by them and I’ve been wearing them ever since and, non, je ne regrette rien. Furthermore, I believe their anti-viral properties protected me during lockdown. RIP, Stephane.

I used to live on a hill with my late partner and this song always brings back such precious memories. This is a great rendition. I still love the recording by Peggy Lee... heartbreaking.

I was chatting to Steph' backstage at the 100 club in London years ago.Just the two of us. I asked him how he could play so brilliantly? " It's not me, it's God" he said. I took that to mean that he knew he had a God given talent! RIP Steph' You and Martin were fantastic together. Baz the poet.

Stephane Grappelli Live At The Vineyard features The Folks Who Lived On The Hill. He was my favourite... I can only dream to be even half the volinist he was. Pure "viol-singing" is rare today. I am thrilled we have footage of this Jazz Master in action.

Wonderful apparatus, nice string arrangements, Grappelli a true master at his craft, and not an understatement, to have called him the best Jazz Violin player in the world up until his death, and an even classier move, the two guitarist, Martin Tayler & Tal Farlow. "Stellar"

My suggestion is to hook your pc up to a good sound system including a good quality brand AM/FM receiver 7.2 channels. (ie; ONKYO, YAMAHA, PIONEER ) Maybe you already know what 7.2 means, but if not the AMP allows you to hitch up 7 speakers that transmit the sound directly to the listeners. You will need to place one of the speakers in the centre facing you, and the other other six, strategically all around your living room. You will also need a few meters of speaker cord. The .2 allows you to connect a pair of self powered SUBWOOFERS to the neutral connection on the back of the amp. All of the speaker connections are well indicated on the back of the amp. The term AM/FM RECEIVER allows you to tune in on all the radio stations available wherever you live. If you have no experience in this field., you more than likely have friends that can help you. If you dont need the radio stations, just purchase a pure AMPLIFIER instead. The store clerk will help you with all the information that you will need. Hope this is of help to you.

This is a factual and musically ignorant comment. The performance was not read from written music. He created it- in other words IMPROVISED!
