Daddy Daughter Diorama Team Up

The adorable Mushman was made by my talented daughter. She gave it to me for Father's Day. I was thrilled and knew immediately that I wanted to create a little world for this fellow. Hope you like the video of our craft team up!

This is a fun little diorama. It reminds me of little snow globes and knickknacks that you find in small shops.

The battery holder trick was clever. The way you perfected the imperfect resin pour to make it blend with the childlike figure was brilliant. Now you know.

I love this! And it's like Mushman is surrounded by his tiny offspring. And you made the resin work! The wave edge with the glue gun and the leaves and ripples. I wonder if pouring it in layers would help too? Like, let a layer get thick but not solid, then pour again? And you shaking on the green flocking looked like shaking on seasoning. Hmm, take a green dried basil/parsley, mix in a little paint, dry, stir, put back in jar to shake out? (Because I think it would turn brown eventually) Silly thought, but ya never know. Your daughter is talented!

Another home run video brother! Daughter gave ya the awesome mush man, son gave ya the cool treasure chest but and the wifey got you the great little acrylic mushrooms....whole family was a part of this "Father's Day" project... It's so amazing! This video is GREAT! Good work buddy!

Very much nice job for a first attempt. Honestly, it gives me a fish tank vibe? Like you can't see clearly because there's a bubbler down there or something? Which you know is aesthetically nice too. Good job. (Also, feel free to ignore my pedantry, but in "moss and lichen", lichen is usually pronounced "like-en", I believe.) Thanks again for a lovely time!

Hello Mr. Broken Terrain! It's a very nice idea the one you got there! I had the same issue with resin before... And there's a few considerations for this... If you allow me to share... 1. Not every resin can pour more than 3 cm deep, unless it a DEEP POUR resin 2. It's a good idea to brush a little resin on the area where you're going to pour... Flock and gravel can retain a lot of air and that form the bubbles... 3. You can also mix the gravel, flock or sand with resin and do a small pour to cover the ground, it helps a lot before pouring the "water" 4. What I highly recommend is to use Vallejo still water (expensive but the value... Oh man the value!) Use it to "varnish" the entire surface, wait 24 hours and then pour the resin... It's one of the best products ever! Guaranteed!! I hope I can give you something back after all the fun and inspiration you've provided me! Cheers and craft on!!!

Is that an Army Painter Character brush? I have one of those! I've gotten quite a few tools and materials from The Army Painter.

@@brokenterrain I knew that, but they come in different sizes... with names like "Monster," "Regiment" and "Character."

@@brokenterrain Yeah, I just have the Character brush for fine details... I mostly use my Citadel/Army Painter arsenal for Figma, Bishoujo Plamo and Gunpla kitbashes.
