For Daddy Day Camp, they should've had Chris Tucker as Charlie, Kevin James as Phil, and Breckin Meyer as Marvin. Btw, Marvin was a character who appeared in the first movie and was never mentioned or seen in this sequel. Also, they should've had the original children back to reprise their roles, only this time, they're in first grade.

They're not trying to make you think it's the same person, I'm guessing Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin were doing other movie roles by the time this movie was going to be filmed and they couldn't appear in it. They have their reasons why they asked Cuba Gooding JR to play in this to replace Eddie. Like what they did with the latest Matrix movie making a different black actor replacing Laurence Fishburne playing his Morpheus character. Again there's plenty of reasons we don't know why they decided to do it this way. Y'all need to quit whining about everything with the movies and just watch them. Damn.

Fun fact: Apparently, this is one of the few movies to get slapped with a score of 1% on Rotten Tomatoes, the same score as other bad movies, those being the Master of Disguise and Disaster Movie. Also, the part at 0:30 sounds like something that a cartoon bobcat would say too, since there are many things going wrong with this movie indeed.

If the stars of the first film refuse to reprise the roles for a direct sequel/prequel, DON’T make the sequel or prequel, because it’ll suck. Daddy Day Camp is a prime example of that, as is Son of the Mask, and the Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.

Those were direct to video sequels, but yes. Other bad sequels/prequels that were made without any (or most) of the returning cast members and still got a theatrical release are: Dumb and Dumberer: when Harry met Lloyd, Caddyshack 2, and Robocop 3
