Living in an urban area and working in rural area, what I have realised is that women in rural are more open to breastfeed their kid in public. The hesitation to do same in urban is much more. Sometimes we actually just become regressive rather that becoming progressive.

Same. In villages it’s very common. It’s mostly the urban society who shame women for breastfeeding. It’s not just India, I have lived in USA for about 30 years and still women get shamed for breastfeeding. Working women are still fighting for breast pumping areas in their work places.

Breastfeeding is very normal! Being in Canada I was comfortable in public place n nobody looked in a wrong manner, same I cannot do in India as logo ki soch kharab hai and they are used to objectify women. I always had Breastfeeding cover but at times just used a jacket n at doctors place during baby vaccines not even tht. It's the broad progressive thinking who understands the purity of Breastfeeding bcos of which I was able to do. In India even with the cover I can never even sit n do infront of even my brother or brother in law as we are not used to this progressive thinking.

In my neighbour house their s a girl who is 19 yrs old her breast are grown but she doesn't cover her cleavage but her mom insists her to do so with a chunni or dupatta whatever it is but that girl doesn't cover infront of me why?

It’s funny people in the Uk are just getting use to the fact the baby needs feeding also. I remember I was really unwell and I had to feed my son and my dad was it’s fine feed here. I didn’t feel uncomfortable 🥴 if I had to do in public then I would of. But if I was to become a mother now I will just do it without caring what people think 🧐

my kids r 8 n 6 yr old .....I fed my babies on airport mall n mall benches .....even by going somewhere n couldn't reach my destination baby start crying so I stop sitting on side of a shop n give breastfeed to my baby n believe me like that happened so many times .....n never a man looking or staring at me in a bad way only all the ladies hv been given me that awkward look .....so yes India is changing but ladies needs more improvement in that way .....but I never felt shy to feed my baby anywhere
