I'm 42 and I feel that if you are between the ages of 35-47...you had an awesome time as far as entertainment goes. It is indeed hard to watch some things that came out in the 80s and 90s, but how I do it, I use my kids. 😂 Like how Tony recently shitted on Howard the Duck ..dude...when I was a kid ...I thought it was the shit! Honestly, I still love it today. I can still look a lot movies the same, but some are just TRASH through an adult lens! My kids do indeed like a LOT of the stuff we grew up on though which makes it cool. We have an old skool night like once or twice a month where we will watch something we grew up on and they give their honest opinions. Most times, it's just the special effects that they can complain about in which...a lot of times, those were the state of the art SE of the times. So when I tell them that, they kind of scale back a bit. The funniest part about watching a lot of movies back then...is how advanced....they THOUGHT we'd be by now! 😂 Not even close! Case in point...Robocop as Keon was talking about. And I JUST watched all of the Predator movies before I watched Prey and a lot of what was taking place in part 2 was definitely corny and a little outlandish! Gary Busy and Danny Glover again...hell, I thought I was in Lethal Weapon for a second! Cool episode fellas!
@highonlifex74192 жыл бұрын
Watching old Freddy Krueger movies, i’m always critiquing it because some parts be so corny lol but still love ‘em!
@lsceo59322 жыл бұрын
@@highonlifex7419 I've been trying to watch Part 3 "Dream Warriors " for years. Never available. You have to buy it. Most horror movies are relatively corny back then, BUT...I will say they still have more creativity than today's movies. It's like all of the ideas and creativity reached its peak in the late 90s and ended in the early 2000s. Everything is a remake or comic book movie now.
@highonlifex74192 жыл бұрын
@@lsceo5932 YES!! I’ve been saying this. It took me awhile to get past the pixelated visuals and cgi but once i did, I really just appreciate the oldies .. that creativity component is needed today. I feel like with Jordan peele, he’s executing that component in his movies and that’s why i enjoy them; it’s something different and not predictable
@lsceo59322 жыл бұрын
@@highonlifex7419 Jordan is standing on the shoulders of Wes Craven, Alfred Hitchcock, Stephen King, John Carpenter, etc...It's like he is trying to bring that level of creativity back into the arena. Just being different. I mean, it even has the M. Night Shyamalan feel to some of his movies. Those of us who grew up in those time periods knew the feeling of going to the movies and being wowed...by originality. Now, most people get upset when the movie isn't exactly like the comic book! Lol.. There is TOO MUCH content out now and most of it isn't original. It's over saturated with the same ish. Even the music artists and their beats sound the same. So when you stand out, you're noticed because you took the time to be different. Not saying that different is better, but it is bold and can inspire someone to take it from that point of it wasn't that great of a project.

Lord of the Rings is a Top 3 Trilogy but it's in a weird spot where it doesnt have the best debut film OR sequel of any Trilogy Top 5 Best Debut Films in a Trilogy: The Godfather The Lord of the Rings The Matrix Star Wars Jurassic park Top 5 Best Sequels in a Trilogy: The Dark Knight The Godfather II Terminator II Aliens Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back Top 5 Best Third Installment Rocky III Toy Story III Avenger's Infinity War Part 1 The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Lord of the Rings: Return of the King And i had to leave off Indiana Jones, Die Hard, Austin powers, Daniel Craig's James Bond series (casino royale+skyfall), Old Boy, Ocean's Eleven, Sam Raimi's Spider man 2, Silence of the Lambs, The thing with Lord of the Rings is all 3 movies are top 10 but no specific movie is the best for a debut/sequel or third installment, unlike almost every other trilogy there was no "bad" installment like with Aliens 3, Terminator 3, godfather 3 etc etc and unlike the Rocky series which got better upto 4, Lord of the Rings was just a solid 8.5-9 each film.
