ALSO! @1:02:40 Carl Carlton of "She's a Bad Mamajama" fame sung said song at my great uncle's funeral after telling us repeatedly that he wouldn't sing it even though no one EVER asked for it. He also sold CD's at the wake. Don't ask me why. 🤣😆🤣😆 We needed it though. Buried my great uncle and our baby cousin on the same day a couple weeks before Thanksgiving.
@moyo99072 жыл бұрын
Oh my, that's a lot to happen all at once! 💔🤗 but wayment: that's my dad's cousin - are you from the D? are we related? I got questions, questions.... QUEST CHINS!🤷🏾♀😄
@3d1k32 жыл бұрын
@@moyo9907 I'm from the D. Family from Inkster and Ypsi and the West side of the D. He had dated my cousin waaaay back in the day. Or so I was told when I quietly asked "Why is Carl Carlton at my Uncle's funeral?" Lol. I don't think you and I are related but definitely connected lol 🤣 Real talk, he was a God send. It was strange in the moment because only older family members knew the connection he had to my uncle. So to everyone under 35 we were clueless. He sang a medley which included "I Believe I Can Fly" another song I'm failing to remember right now and then ending with a.....uh....🤔........a funeral appropriate 🤷🏿♂️?...... rendition of "She's a Bad Mamajama". 🤣😆🤣 My Uncle had lived a life, we met cousins we didn't know existed and are fairly certain we still don't know all of his kids, especially with him serving in the war over in Europe. Pretty certain he has some kids over there. But he was dope. Even the mayor or maybe former mayor, of Inkster came out to the funeral and a couple other current/former city officials. He Taught me to play chess. Definitely miss him. Our little cousin had drowened in a hotel pool while on a cheer leading trip in Chicao. She had long hair and it got caught in a drain at the bottom of the pool. Her funeral was first then we had to jet to my uncle's funeral shortly after. It was a heavy day and no one was laughing at my cousin's funeral. But thanks to your cousin Carl Carlton, and a few other colorful guests, we actually had a good time at my uncle's funeral lol. We still laugh about it to this day as a family. My sister even got some of your cousin on video just before he started singing "Bad Mamajama"

So I looked it up... Kansas City, Missouri was first and it was named so because of the Kansas river. The city was so successful, settlers on the Kansas side wanted to capitalize off of that success by creating their own with the same name and hoping people would come there mistaking it for the Missouri city and they felt they could use the name because they're actually from Kansas state. In conclusion, Mo residents are right in complaining that Ks city is trying to steal all their shine.

His wife's dad passed out at the reception on the dance floor while everybody was dancing and eating. The whole function came to a halt. Ambulance arrives, checks his vitals, takes him to the hospital and as the sirens are wailing in the background as the ambulance leaves the premises and the air is heavy, the bride is crying.....the DJ drops this: 🎶"I was booooorrrnnnnn by a river"🎶 Yes, he played Sam Cooke's "Change gon' Come" perhaps the saddest song of all time. Tony is an exceptional human being! At the 1:30:40 mark, where they're discussing which three comedians they'd each pick to raise their kids: The way that Chaz can just sit there and say "I'm going with DC. He's two for two!" right next to Tony, and Tony doesn't say anything -- that's true composure. I don't care what Chaz says about it, that's devil sh*t. Then he adds Tony to his list at the last moment just to avoid being called out, if that doesn't show you what type of friend he is... I mean, really. Have some decency. You can just tell Chaz has some weird resentment towards Tony, despite Tony being the only one at that table who truly has his back. He's made a number of comments on the podcast alone about Tony's parenting skills, pretty much flaunting the death of his child in his face. I know other people may not see it this way, but I do. It's foul. Very foul.
