That ending of the season is haunting. One of the things keeping Homelander on any kind of leash was the fact that he was afraid to kill publicly because of how people would react. But this scene shows that people, at least his fanbase, will support him no matter what he does. Now, he can really be himself and do whatever the fuck he wants.

I think she survived the fall the same way Kimiko survived getting slammed into a concrete wall and getting stabbed with rebar - their powers lasted long enough to let them endure the initial impact, but disappeared soon enough to still fuck them up a bit.

Noir died just as soon as his character was getting interesting and before we actually saw a standoff between him and Soldier Boy, a complete waste. Meanwhile Maeve actually has a satisfying/complete character arc of becoming the 'hero' and being prepared to sacrifice it all, yet she survives when her character has been completely spent. I love the show but this final was goofy.

homelander killing that man and getting approval from his fans is genuinely scarier then if he had killed the president like in the comics. the only thing post stan edgar that was keeping him in check was his need to be loved (even his speech on how he wouldn’t mind being feared is a bluff) and now that his homicidal and childish behavior has been rewarded with love he’s realized that he can truly do whatever he wants and still be loved by the alt-right fans he’s cultivated. truly a phenomenal show, i can’t wait for the next season

I can see Homelander getting too caught up in his bs and taking things too far. alt righters idolise percieved strength and machismo (because they have none of their own) and there are still a few cards to play against Homelander's credibility where he is shown to be cowardly and selfish as fuck. For instance the video of the Flight 37 crash. Threatening to laser people and shit. A Train is a conflicted character and there is still time for him to switch sides and testify against Homelander. Really, Homelander is such a loose cannon that discrediting him shouldnt realistically be a problem, all they need is something to put him down once he goes ape shit.

He did it because seeing that part of himself in his son Homelander, that was also longing for attention from his own father, which he has been taught to see as weak and he hates himself for and tries to supress by portraying a toxic masculine exterior, pushed him to continue the generational cycle of abuse and toxic masculinity passed down from his father.

I was wondering when this video was about to come out. That being said, as a huge comic book fan, I love The Boys show and I can’t wait for the next season and whatever they’re gonna do with the source material. Plus the symbolism of what Trump said about shooting somebody in fifth Avenue and still getting votes at the end of the Season 3 finale with what homelander did was brilliant. But the biggest lesson we learned this season is that no matter what situation, Shawn Cee wouldn’t let that happen to him.

There's some decent ideas in them but a lot of it just just pure edge lord fantasy for the sake of edginess. I think the reason Maeve survived is because of an updated modern form of compound V. Which would explain why her and Kimiko can survive and lose their powers, but all the old Payback members just get wiped out as they got their powers from the initial experiments.

Also, I feel like they both kinda knew the risks but butcher knew Hughie wouldn’t back out (which is why he slept him at the gas station) I think that’s why Hughie didn’t really react when Annie told him that it’d kill him, he probably already had some idea.

Also the reason they didn’t use a permanent V option is because MM stated earlier the reason the have the boys is to take down supes because nobody should have that kind of power so a temporary option im guessing in there eyes is to be able to punch supes but not be have the responsibility to take care of having that power forever
