I am wowed over by Fred's professionalism. His beloved wife Phyllis died at the beginning of the filming of this movie. He offered to pay for the production costs to have the movie scrapped but the studio would not hear of it (Would that happen today? I doubt it!). He came back after several weeks and finished the movie. Except for seeing in some scenes where his eyes are puffy and red (he would retreat into his trailer and cry), you would never know that he had suffer the loss of his life.

Fred, at 55 yrs, hopping around like a 20 yr old... he was the best ;)

He is not hopping but gliding. He looks more graceful than every other dancer. Like his style.

One my favorite unrealistic movie conventions - the high school or college dance where everybody can magically participate in unison in some complicated step, flawlessly. And even more amusingly, Fred gets knocked onto the dance floor and immediately knows the entire routine. Note how Fred is the only man in an all-black tuxedo, and Leslie's the only female in a bright-colored dress. That's so that they'll stand out from the crowd in the background.

Does anyone else think that guy on the sacs looks scarily like (a duller version of) Cary Grant?

Apparently this was the only film Ray Anthony provided music for. Yes, he looks a lot like Cary Grant, doesn't he?

Love this movie. First watched when I was 20 and single wishing I had a "Guardian." Always loved the idea of falling in love with an older man.

@BoydMyHero359 Actually, Fred just listens & later dances to it. It was written by Johnny Mercer, performed by 'The Pied Pipers' on Capital Records in 1945, and has sold very well ever since. Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and others have recorded it. Isn't it a beautiful song, especially for this movie?

@BoydMyHero359 It's called "Dream." Michael Buble has a beautiful version.
