This DPS song hit me in the feels. I cannot lie, it hit different! He was saying he was tired, and I was saying "me too"!! Then that rev up to the end made me want to swing out from the ground up! Sometimes when you are at your most tired, that is when you got to swing the hardest!! And I felt that swing and that impact!!

Thanks for sharing that, I hadn't thought of the song structure it in that way until you pointed it out. His songs have all been non traditional with the structures lately and that has made them all unique

Are you saying the intro went on so long it made you tired? Like maybe it added a meta level to his scheme? Fr though fuck youtube metrics and trying to mould art to fit an algorithm, this song slaps

It did not make me tired, but I do think the intro was too long for a song. Shorter more compact songs perform better, even off youtube. If you take the average song length from 2000 and compare it to 2023/4, you'd see the trend in shorter songs with higher rate of flow switches, beat switches, etc I think tiktok really accelerated us into that direction unfortunately, but we were always headed to this destination

I'm not sure if the link will work, but DPS tweeted his thoughts about the nerdcore community and hip hop in general: twitter.com/Daddyphatsnaps/status/1656060458816897024 I won't name names because DPS didn't call the person out by name either, but there are people in the ecosystem who look down on the nerdcore community and think alot of elements in nerdcore are disrespectful to the hip hop culture in general. The specific person is part of the reactor community and has talked down on nerdcore for a while now, not giving it respect because it's different from traditional rap. So when DPS refers to people who speak like they have all the answers, he's saying "If you have all the answers, why isn't your own music popping? I'm here grinding working in the booth while you act like you're above me. Meanwhile my music is doing the numbers while yours isn't. So who really got the answers then?"

@xFayze wooow I understand now so I won't name anyone either but yeah I noticed that this has been a reoccurring thing with a few people. I would definitely say he did a good job here like the Josuke rap he did addressing stuff but hiding it behind the character and etc.

@@eclipsedboii to be clear, I'm not 100% certain the bar in the song refers directly to this, but it seems to line up. Only DPS can say what he really meant. I'm not trying to stir up any beef which is why I didn't say much in the reaction.
