You might want to view the thought experiment "Blue eyed people vs brown eyed people" from the late 1960s, if you're unfamiliar with it. Psychologist Jane Elliot performed this exercise to school children and adult volunteers, and deftly got people to, in little time, start resenting each other based on eye color differences! At the time, the exercise was done to highlight racism of the day. But what is so damned interesting is that this same thought experiment could be applied today (or perhaps could be argued that it is, in fact, being done), in the sense that it's demonstrative of precisely what all WOKE initiatives such as DEI are doing: emphasizing our DIFFERENCES which thereby creates resentment and more racism rather than less of it. What we have had the past twenty or more years, thanks to the Leftist agenda, ironically worsens race relations. (For the record, not that it should matter, is that I am center Left...or, a moderate.) I wonder how Jane Elliot would feel about DEI if she were still alive. Maybe the irony would be missed by her. I don't know. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z57GdH-jlLGqpqc

Short answer: yes. Long answer: no. They've gone to ground. The people in charge of all this stuff will rebrand again and we'll be dealing with that later. We just have to stay vigilant and stop giving those companies our money. It's not enough to live and let live. We have to actively oppose the forces of evil.
@emanekaf145Ай бұрын
Yeah. This is sort of how I feel about it. Claiming we've won doesn't make sense when our opponents follow on from people like Gramsci and share ideas with the Soviet Union. As Hayek mentioned, the left keeps the emotionality of words but flips their meaning. They'll just do it again with new words and rationalizations. I always point out how terms like "microaggression" were rightfully dismissed when they first hit the mainstream, but then they vanished for a couple years and their concepts resurfaced shortly after, simply rolled into the larger concept of "racism" because the emotionality of the word was more powerful. This is true for a lot of things in the left, especially language. That and projection. If a leftist labels or accuses you of something, they probably embody that thing themselves. Some people claim we've passed "peak woke". I doubt it. I think we're going to see a dying ideology get violent and even more irrational before it vanishes, and then it will just subvert whatever new culture is created. We need to constantly watch for those ideas and stick to solid principles that can reliably build rather than destroy.

As someone who grew up with online discussion, I noticed that the internet was always a couple years ahead of the mainstream on culture. The discussions and debates that I saw online in various place were usually long settled by the time it hit the news. It use to confuse me why people were so shocked by the ideas that seemed so simple until I started getting into political theory, psychology, and economics. I remember continually having an unfortunate "I told you so" talk year after year with friends who weren't clued in, but they would always just move the goalpost and deny that the last change "counts". Most of those friends embraced DEI and leftism over time, became angry, and are now baffled why they're losing public favour. This is one of those discussions that should have been obvious to everyone a decade ago at least, when its roots started to be planted, but it' taken until it sprouted, grew, overwhelmed, and is now withering before many people have started to understand it was just as bad of an idea as it sounded back then. Now we have one more piece of scientific evidence to help prove that. It really shouldn't have got this far though, but history and psychology has taught me that "shouldn't" rarely means "wouldn't".

One of the best comments I’ve read in a long time! There’s the pattern of “that’s not happening! That’s a conspiracy theory! People who say that is happening are bad!” to “even if that were happening it wouldn’t be a big deal. Why do you care so much?” to “the thing that’s totally not happening is actually a good thing” to “the thing has always been happening, this is no different than before” to “anyone who doesn’t enthusiastically support the thing is a bad person and shouldn’t be able to keep their job!” The level of ideological possession in these times is staggering. I’m still not sure what the exact difference is between people like the ones you mentioned who fell for the woke stuff vs those who have resisted it. Another came here 6 months ago from a wartorn country and learned an impressive amount of our language and to understand it spoken, just from interaction with people, and a phone can nowadays always be a translator. We hire and welcome these people from all over and expect them to do a good job and to fit in. There's rules of conduct, and nobody gets special treatment. I myself when I started, man I was not used to such a physical job. To this day there are times when I just want to say "alright I'm absolutely beat, I'm calling it a day" well... The single biggest problem in the education system is that funding is by ZIP code. All children deserve the same education, but the wealthy determined that not only could they save a little but also give their children an advantage very easily. I suspect that for an awful lot of the wealthy the saving a little was the most important.

What upsets me about this whole ordeal is how easy it turns out to be to get people to see racism and sexism in every human interaction, and to see people nothing but a skin color. All you have to do is assert that the slightest disagreement between two people of different is because of discrimination by . And people eat it up. There is no skepticism or critical analysis. We were past this once. Everybody embraced the message behind MLK's speech. We have regressed massively.

Woah to the one commenter. Veterans are not a protected class under DEI initiatives. Companies hire veterans because we are already trained as workaholics so companies don't have to worry about where work will appear in the employee's personal priorities. At least if they were a long serving veteran because that's what's required to be successful in that environment.

1.5 m employees X $35 each DEI course = *$53,500,000* Easiest money ever saved for the bottom line. 😮

No, it is not "coming to an end". The managerial elite are simply changing the paint job.

The sooner the better. Let’s try a new approach to running a functioning nation…… ABILITY GETS HIRED.

John, CRT and DEI also use a current version of polylogism. Maybe you can explain that in a video and shine a light on the historical origins of polylogism.

You need to talk to Kirsche. Like ASAP. She's a Vtuber that has dozens of videos on how "the message" is rebranding. She saw how Campbell's Soup (the company) was getting into this stuff and she fell into the rabbit hole of how deep this goes. Hint: This stuff isn't going away. Not by a long shot. They're already rewriting history and literature by creating new editions of old works and rewriting them. These people are insane and will keep "doing the work" or praxis as Communists say.

I think there was more to it than just overcorrecting for the heavily racial inequalities from America’s past. A middle aged man with decades of experience is going to cost an employer a lot more money than say hiring a man or women with way less experience. It always has to do with $ and the bottom line. DEI was nothing more than a front by corporations to pay less for their workers. Do you really think the multi billionaire owners of Walmart are sitting around thinking about how if they only could just somehow improve the lives of say trans people? Get real people.

It’s not completely the death because there’s a bunch of movies, games, books, etc that were under production during the dei era that will be released in the near future.

Basically DEI foments anger, discrimination, retributive and authoritarian behaviors. Seems legit with how I’ve seen it spread where I live and the fruit it produces.
