Finally a well edited video. The last thing Daemon wants in this scene is to hurt Rhaenyra. He just wanted her to understand that now the games were over, either they or their enemies would survive. The time for negotiations has passed. The prophecy killed his brother, he won't let Rhaenyra and their children die because of the myth chasing.

@@RealVincent1989 I'm sorry but this shows a major lack of understanding of Daemon's character. It also assumes Rhaenyra is weak. Daemon doesn't see her that way, he sees her as an equal. He's not asserting his dominance over her, as must be the case in male on female "shock value" violence. He bows to her, she knows it, and he is grief sticken by the loss of his brother and daughter, and angered by the seizure of the throne. He is taking out his frustrations with Rhaenyra's descision making and his grief at not being trusted with the prophecy (as well as his anger at his brother's "dreams" which he felt blinded him) onto Rhaenyra (unfairly) but he still sees her as his queen, not a subordinate.
@avamarlow59892 жыл бұрын
You want to understand why Daemon choked Rhaenyra? Go watch the entirety of this video edit (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIbXhXdrYrZlb6c ) and pay attention to the lyrics of the background song as well as the dialog spoken. Then maybe you’ll get Daemon’s character & what he meant in episode 1 when he told Viserys that he would protect him from himself as his hand unlike Otto. Daemon feels like Viserys played a part in his own demise because he was so focused on his dream of a son. As soon as the word dream left Rhaenyra’s mouth he flipped the eff out because he saw his brother’s mistakes happening all over again in her b/c she seemed on the verge of possibly giving in to the Hightowers because of another dream. From his perspective, you can’t blame him for going nuclear in that moment. And then what happens later? Her son is killed b/c of Aemond. Maybe she should’ve listened to Daemon and not been so reluctant to take at least some type of action in the beginning. Just because it’s her duty to protect the prophecy doesn’t mean she must be a “slave” to it at all times with every action taken. For all she knows, the threat could happen tomorrow & the usurper on the throne has no idea about the prophecy so her logic of total & complete inaction is ridiculous anyway. Regardless, I think it’s so ridiculous that people have been coming down so hard on Daemon for what he did or completely misunderstanding his behavior in the finale. No, he’s not a good guy but he’s the guy you want on your side when shit goes down. This is Westeros in the Middle Ages. Good guys don’t make it out alive. And Rhaenyra just pulled a baby out of her own vagina like 5 minutes ago & is so bonded w/ her dragon that she felt her labor pains. She & Daemon share the blood of the dragon. They are chaotic. She’s not some fragile battered little woman who can’t handle Daemon.

@@DYAdayai It's not people misunderstood, it's the showrunners who cut all the human scenes with him. The audience's love for Damon is like a bone in their throat. Especially with one feminist screenwriter. I won't be surprised if they make him an abuser in the second season and drown him like Daenerys. I think Matt Smith did a brilliant job, what he did with Damon is amazing. His character is woven in equal measure from light and darkness, as Martin described.

@@ЮлияКирдеева-д4м yeah. Hess's comments made clear that not only she does not like him, but also she doesnt like that the audience likes him. Also, the scenes in ep 8 when visery's crown falls and daemon picks it up and helps him get to his throne and in ep 10 ending where he personally delivers news of rheanyra's son's death, they were all matt's ideas. I hope they let him have this type of creative freedom in s2, because otherwise, they will cut all the scenes that show another side of him and make him look like a heartless bastard.

When I first watched episode 10, I was shocked at the chocking scene, but afterwards, when I had time to think about it, Daemon's actions made perfect sense. He could plainly see a repeat of history happening with Rhaenyra and he snapped. He needed to knock some sense into her. If she had acted sooner, maybe Luc's death could have been avoided. Thank you for making this video! it illustrates Daemon's reasons for why he acted the way he did in ep 10. Brilliant editing too!

It wasn't the fact that they had the scene where daemon grabs rhaenyra by the throat that truly upset me, it was the fact that she was crying out for him when she was giving birth and he didn't go to her. That fucking gutted me, and I don't understand why the showrunners did that when he was by Laena's side throughout HER childbirth. You'd think they'd show daemon having some actual concern/ptsd over the childbirth aspect after seeing his second wife die from it

First of all, these are two completely different scenarios. They have just learned that the Greens have seized power. That was 1-2 days ago, they could be attacked at any time. Daemon can't help Rhaenyra give birth, he could only watch. The best thing he can do is to secure Dragonstone. He must contact their allies and make sure the Kingsguard remains loyal. He protects Rhaenyra and their family in his own way.

@lilithoath35802 жыл бұрын
I preferred the young one and I do find it inconsistent that she seemed so willing to be ruthless when she was young and yet is so much like her father now. It's not that I mind her being strategic, it's that it seems so different from the original character and how she was described in the books. How did this impulsive careless girl become this Queen of inaction? I know people can mature and change, but I feel they went too far and that the change of actresses watered down her character

@@lilithoath3580 I agree. And the maturity of a personality like young Rhaenyra is to choose to be more diplomatic (curb her sharp tongues in social events) and make political alliances independently rather than solely rely on her father. She would keep her mind proactive and sharp. The older Rhaenyra, however, was not doing anything until episode 8 luke's succession was questioned. She then has to beg her father who she never visited for 6 years. The older Rhaenyra also lost all eloquence in her speech.
