I used blues as fodder ahead of pinks I. A similar fashion to his playing of plaguebearers and bloodletters. The thing that gives them strategic value is their ability to group activate - in some cases I've used them to control the center objective for security tac op by moving the set of two last from concealed to exposed giving me 4apl on point with the option to split one into a brimstone should they take fire and 2/3 with 6 inch range doesn't sound like much but again, group activation can mean that you get more hits and they also benefit from glistening barrage. Downside is that they are super squishy and generally not great. But hey, bodies is bodies.

@@mattdegan6939 Really useful thanks! I'm hoping there might be a niche opportunity to charge horror/s at an enemy on an objective and then not fight, safe in the knowledge that you are invulnerable to shooting and can split if they choose to attack

I want more than anything in killteam to have them eventually give us more deamon variance in the deamon teams so I can have a Flamer of Tzeentch leader just one excuse to bring a Flamer of Tzeentch or one of the lil sting ray bois to killteam is all I ask 🥺

I think split should be free but when your pink/blue horror dies, you roll a D6 and on a 6 it just splits for free.

i would like to see the daemons being expanded. For example adding the Fiends to the list or hounds to khorn. I like the idea of playing a pure faction.

Yeah, as a Slaaneshi-head it would be cool to be able to throw a fiend and a couple of mounts into the mix. I guess its best to look at it as a challenge to figure out a way to kick-ass with a pure daemon team.

Positives to daemons: playable in kill team, 40k, warcry, and AoS. Model variety and team variety. Plus it’s cool, but should I get two boxes for plague bearers, bloodletter, and pinks

having played a bunch of pink horrors while learning to play kill team I have to say this is bang on - Never tried mixing the teams (Other than pink and blue) so I am super interested in trying the khorne/nurgle mix and the tzeentch/khorne or nurgle mix - Like many, I also missed the power of scorched skull

Thanks so much - this was great to watch. I actually plan to run them at a small tourny next weekend so this was timely for me. I agree I think they are strong and they are my favorite faction to run right now. In addition to all the strengths you mentioned, I think there is something to be said for keeping fewer profiles in mind while playing; there's a bit less cognitive load related to that than some of these bespoke teams where every model has something different going on. Lets me concentrate more on what is happening on the board.

Great run down for Daemons! Would be good to know what tac ops they're best suited to, I'm guessing the the survivability of Plagues would lend to Security? Maybe otherwise if going more killy then seek and destroy?

Security almost always. Seek and Destroy lends itself to you potentially having to choose between execution or challenge, which is just brutal.

Really interesting video! If i may ask: As someone who wants to start play kill team and really likes Tzeentchian Horrors, what will you suggest to buy first to go with them to try the game: Plaguebearers of Bloodletters?

bloodletters are great in combat. make a good front line offensive force. they only have melee (unless you spend the EP for a ranged weapon) plaguebearers are a lil less killy. and a bit slower. but a lot more resilient. so if you need some hard hitters in combat, bloodletters would fit better. but if you’re needing more of a beefy line. plaguebearers are better for that. in all honesty, it wouldn’t hurt to get all of the different factions if you’re able to. slaanesh are super fast. i use them against more horde type armies. and usually bloodletters against elites. even tho nurgle is my fav chaos god, i think the plaguebearers are the worst out of all of them. (better than blue horrors and the yellow flames) edit: i don’t mean plaguebearers are bad. i just seem to hardly use them over any other faction

Obviously his opinion is better, but if you are doing every firetem but daemonettes, I would put a Pink leader and a Bloodletter leader, as the Plaguebearers don’t have the gameplan of dealing damage, they just gum the opponent up.

Im a noob in kill team and I know this might be a dumb question but is it possible to have a mix fire team for daemons? I wanted to see if i could make a kill team of plague bearers, bloodletters, and horrers, without only having to pick two fire teams of only two choices or breaking the rules😅

Iridescent whenever you take Pinks! Otherwise, Bloodreaper.

one aspect I wish was in the video was the leader issue - I presume the best roster (since one fire team either must always have a leader or never) is 5 PH + leader, 6 BL + leader, and 6 PR + leader. Going up to 9 wounds and hitting on 2's at range seem to always be a better boost than the benefits the other leaders get. I'm not sure about which leader is best to choose from if the move is to take Khorne + Nurgle. Both sound good, but maybe bloodreaper for harder to injure (and no hitting on 4's when injured)? Make Split 1/0 CP! Thanks for the video

Iridescent is definitely the leader to take, wish I didn’t forget to mention that. If you aren’t going Pinks, either leader is fine. I typically lean toward the Bloodreaper.
