I've seen him at the Bataclan at what, 70 years old maybe? He performed in a moon outfit., he had so much energy.

Gong - Camembert Electrique - -From Wikipedia - -Camembert Electrique (French: Electric Camembert) is the second studio album by the progressive rock band Gong, recorded and originally released in 1971 on the French BYG Actuel label. The album was recorded at Château d'Hérouville near Paris, France, produced by Pierre Lattès and engineered by Gilles Salle. Jean Karakos (credited in Daevid Allen's liner notes as "Byg Jean Kastro Kornflakes") was executive producer. Release history The album was originally released in France in October 1971 on BYG Actuel (catalogue number 529.353), and reissued in the UK in 1974 by Virgin Records (catalogue number VC-502), where it sold for 59p, the price of a single, a marketing scheme Virgin had used the year before for the album The Faust Tapes by Faust, in the hope that greatly discounted albums would give more exposure to the artists and encourage sales of their regularly priced albums, although these discounted albums did not qualify for album chart listings. It was also issued twice on Virgin's Caroline Records budget label (catalogue number C-1505 also in 1974, and C-1520 around 1976), still at a discount price, but no longer priced as low as a single. In the late 1970s it was reissued on Charly Records whose edition was in print in the UK concurrently with Virgin's. More recently it has been reissued in the UK on CD by Snapper Music (catalogue number SNAP-009) and on 180-gram vinyl by Get Back Records (catalogue number GET-610). On both sides of the LP the audio begins in the widely spaced lead groove (on the original edition, but appearing as a banded track on most later editions), and at the end of the side, the audio continues into the locked groove. I remember them selling this album for 50p at Virgin Records. I did not really like it much at first. Later I grew to love it and all Gong's albums and band permutations.

Not for everybody. Not even for you connoisseurs - less for new listeners -! 🤘If you're not acquainted to Zappa, Beefheart or Sun Ra, this will disgust you as you won't understand what's going on. Cheers!

Hey, you had me at the Not for everybody but then you lost me at the If you're not acquainted to Zappa and Beefheart or Sun Ra. (I've never heard of Sun Ra) Gong doesn't remind me of Zappa at all. Beefheart, kind of but if you really want people to get this and they are new and like commercial stuff then and never go underground steer them to Soft Machine and Ultimate Spinach. (Ultimate Spinach is close ) Jimi Hendrix is close too. I like Frank but he's really commercial and doesn't touch it like Beefheart can. Beefheart in my opinion is the best of the American sound. When Psychedelic started taking a UK spin into Progressive the US cut out completely. Thanks for the Sun Ra reference I'll will be listening now because of you.

@@TheMidnightBell07 The listing is just an approach. Agreed on Beefheart. Jimi, not even close! Different universes. Regarding Zappa, his early works have hints on the matter, despite his popularity (that's why he's listed) not everybody likes him. Soft Machine and Ultimate Spinach, you nailed them, as examples on the genre. Let me add Caravan and Matching Mole. Your comment on Sun Ra is very much appreciated. Greetings 🤘

@@PolHesher Hey, not the commercial stuff but he did some tapes in Italy back in 1964. (I found one of the 3 at a thrift store years ago) He was psychedelic before it was invented.) I might have heard of the Spanish Gong but I don't remember. I love Caravan!!! I love Progressive and Avant-garde as well. (Can out of Germany with a song called Vitamin C and from France Haute pression by Besombes and Rizet their group is known as Pôle) I love Pôle because their stuff wasn't concidered psychedelic but it is too me. This song in particular is creepy like a perfect blend of psychedelic and Progressive)

このレコード、endlessになっているのは、レコード持っている人しか知らないですね。私もびっくりした！ある時、突然GONG、GONGと急ブレーキの音が曲が終わった後に繰り返してレコードの針が中央のレーベル迄移動するのを知ってる人いますか？
