I just purchased some today at a plant yard sale. Thanks so much for sharing this video. I learned a lot from you. I’ll looking forward to see what variety I got, when they bloom next year.

I have a pot with narcissus that a friend gave me in good conditions, I am watering them once every week as she told me but they are deteriorating, so I tried to water them more frequently and still continue to fade. So how often should I water them? I am also putting them in a place where they get direct sun light around 5 hours, and in a colder room. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I think is the watering frequency. Can you help me with this? Thanks!!

They will eventually die down in the pot as they do outside in the ground. You could try to let your bulbs just rest in the pot, after the leaves have died as they feed the bulb for next bloom. I’m not sure if they need to cool before next bloom. Water the soil periodically so it doesn’t get bone dry. They might come back in the fall again.

These plants in this clip series all grow and bloom well in the shade?

The more sun, the better. Beneath late leafing trees is better than early leafing trees.

I bought some trumpet daffodills and thought I could plant them in the ground and they would come up year after year as I have seen some in my area however it says zone 3-7 perennial and zone 8-11 annual. I live in zone 8b so we have short winters very few really cold days so what can I do to save these guys after they die back and will I ever be able to have a garden of these. Some have said plant in a shady area but they love the sun?? Most around here do seem to be planted in dabbled sunlight. Any suggestions?

Not sure about the climate you live in but hey do need a cold winter in order to bloom.

why does it seem that the daffodil blooms all point in the same direction?

peter X, maybe they are like daylilies and turn toward the sun.

Can I plant daffodils? I am in zone 12.
@Gardenclips7 жыл бұрын
Good question Wendy. They will not get cold enough over the winter in zone 12. In order for them to bloom the bulbs need to be chilled over the winter months. Some people do grow them in warm weather climates by actually refrigerating the bulbs over the winter and planting them out in early spring. Having them in pots that could be refrigerated would save a lot of digging each year, but its still a lot of work either way. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Thanks for your answer. I decided to try refrigerating the bulb, and them to plant the bulb in a pot, I guess that after the flowers blooms I will have to put the pot in the refrigeration, right?

Why doesn't he ever pluralize the word Narcissus?
@Gardenclips Жыл бұрын
It is due to a deep seated botanical trauma in the distant past. It's not just Narcissus. He is unable to pluralize any word in latin. We try not to make a big deal out of it because things can get out of control when he's confronted with this. Our appreciation for your understanding and cooperation with this matter is truly beyond words.
