every time I see the scene with their human masks, I can't help but laugh because of the music. It's such an awkward scene to me, and what makes it funny IS THE FACT THE MASKS HAVE NO EYEBROWS. And the music makes it seem like they think they're some hot stuff.

I think the worst part about the _TMZ_ video is that they went on to make fun of how the guys in Daft Punk looked without their masks.
@confusedcossack28857 жыл бұрын
I really want one of those helmets too but I think the reason that there is a scarcity of them is that, if everyone had a Daft punk helmet, it would be very difficult to distinguish between fans and the actually Robots. And considering that Daft Punk wants to remain unseen then finding the real them would be even more harder to find them.

I bet I'll get even more once I finish and upload my _Frozen_ review this month. I think _American Idiot_ is a great album, but I'm not the most keen on the group themselves. I don't know; my parents kind of raised me with a limited amount of rock music (mostly stuff from the '70s), so I have a lot to catch up on when it comes to the rock of the '80s, '90s and 2000s. @THSReviews8 жыл бұрын
+AtrocityEquine Pfft, yeah, I know. My frustration in this video was actually based on my real-life frustration in 2014 when I couldn't find any Daft Punk helmets--I wasn't even thinking anything huge, just cheap plastic ones like the Darth Vader helmets one would buy at a Toys 'R' Us--and it was right before Halloween. I wound up going as Neo from _The Matrix_, same as the year before. The year after that, I went as Edward Scissorhands. I'm not sure what I'll go as this Halloween, though. I was half considering dressing as the titular character from _Phantom of the Paradise_, my favorite musical movie, but I can't find a good helmet for that either. Anyway, did you like the review?
@AtrocityEquine018 жыл бұрын
+TheHappySpaceman Reviews Well give or take what you can. I did :3. I basically began to die of laughter when the face reveal occurred. your face sells it XD.
@THSReviews8 жыл бұрын
AtrocityEquine True. I guess as much as _I_ may love _Phantom of the Paradise_, there aren't many other people who do, so there are probably fewer people who can make masks for it. Yeah, when I saw those faces when I was first watching it, I immediately thought, "_Someone_ has been watching _The Garbage Pail Kids Movie_ recently." XD And thanks! I was a little concerned I overreacted to it. ^^; My personal favorite part to make in this review was the dubbing of Daft Punk themselves. I had had so much fun with that in my _Interstella 5555_ review that I figured I'd do it again here. :D
@AtrocityEquine018 жыл бұрын
TheHappySpaceman Reviews And welp XD. XD Basically, All I can think was "are those caricatures of Thomas and Guy?!". And nah, It's understandable the film isn't in your type of tastes, it really does feel like an art house film. XD Those were the best, especially the one where Thomas wanted a McDonalds.
@THSReviews8 жыл бұрын
AtrocityEquine Now that I think of it, yeah, I can see that. I haven't seen many pictures of the two guys unmasked, but what I have seen does look a little like this in the same way that Phil Collins looks like his puppet version in the "Land of Confusion" music video. I'm not a huge fan of art films, anyway, though I do like Stanley Kubrick. The difference is that in his films, we still got to know the characters better and the plots were still great. Actually, Guy-Man was the one who wanted McDonald's. XD Guy-Man is the one with the higher voice than Thomas. There were also some scenes that I was planning on animating of everyday life in the robot world, but I was too lazy and decided not to do so. I might include the WIP versions of those scenes in a deleted scene reel, though.

I actually get really upset about the way he speaks of this movie. The movie represents two robots, in a robot world who are trying to be diffrent and have their own personality, but they are not allowed by the other robots. It is a movie about them selfs, its just a reversed world, because Daft Punk as a duo (outside the movie) just want to be the two robots, but they cant because the whole world / the media / the fans wants to see who is behind the masks. Sorry to run this down, but you cant call yourself a Daft Punk fan if you dont agree with the plot of the movie. We do know who they are now in 2021, but back then we did not.
@THSReviews3 жыл бұрын
"you cant call yourself a Daft Punk fan if you dont agree with the plot of the movie" Uhm... yes. Yes I can. You aren't obligated to love everything an artist puts out to call yourself a fan of them. Some of my favorite artists have put out stinkers. That doesn't mean that I love them any less, or that I cannot call myself a fan of them because I didn't like those songs. And also, it's not that I mind the plot of the movie, but the execution makes watching the entire film far too slowly paced for me to want to sit through. I understand that all of us are upset that Daft Punk has called it quits, but that's no reason to gatekeep who can or can't call themselves fans.
@jakobkolczak25513 жыл бұрын
@@THSReviews But dont you see my point? the fact that your just throwing the movie under a bus (As a review) which many people are gonna watch, is just stupid. The movie has a deeper meaning and i m just saying that, if you want to promote this movie as bad and pointless as you do, you could at least, just for the new people who came to watch your "review" and wanted to learn something about a duo they love, just quickly point out the plot of the film in the end. It s a very narrow perspective to distribute, and when i m saying you cant call yourself a fan, i m meaning it by, as a fan of something or someone, and in your case as a critic, just be careful, because someone who has never seen the movie and might find the story interesting, are never going to give it a chance after watching your video. When you are a fan you are part of a community in which people like you are responsible for posting both sides of the movie, because the movie is long and not the best. but it has a deeper meaning!
@jakobkolczak25513 жыл бұрын
Sorry this was intended to be me headbutting you, but i just could not hold myself back.
@THSReviews3 жыл бұрын
"your just throwing the movie under a bus (As a review) which many people are gonna watch" Isn't that ultimately the point of a review, though? For the reviewer to give their opinion on whether or not they thought the film was good and would recommend it to others? No, I did not give the film a positive review because I thought it was way too poorly paced to sit through. And as for "posting both sides of the movie," I commented repeatedly in my review about some of the good parts of the film, like the cinematography, use of light and shadow and mise-en-scene, and acting, and I said that the fan edits with alternate music and truncated to fit the original song worked a lot better. But ultimately, I did not give the film a positive review and I _cannot_ in good faith give it a positive review because in my mind, the film's flaws outweigh the good parts. Would it not, therefore, be disingenuous of me to recommend this movie to others if I did not like it myself?
@jakobkolczak25513 жыл бұрын
