I never did listen to all of their music beyond what was the album for an anime called Interstella 5555, which was more or less like a music video for Daft Punk, nor did I hear it on a regular basis. Still, this is one of the times where I did feel bummed out they split up. Still, it was one hell of a ride and we have their music to remember it all by.

I lost my dad -- my best friend in the entire world -- to Covid on January 30th of this year (2021). He grew up listening to house and edm music in the 70s/80s and he loved daft punk. I cried watching Epilogue and didn't cry for the rest of the day afterwards. However, today was different as it truly hit me harder than a freight train. Had this song on loop and couldn't help myself and bawled my eyes out like nothing. They changed the landscape of music forever and they'll never be forgotten. Thank you Daft Punk for these 28 years of innovation and inspiration. We will and already miss you.

My dad tried to get me into daft punk when I was younger, and it didn’t really clicked. He passed away a couple of years ago, and I found a sort of connection by listening to their music- even if it was kinda posthumously. It reminded me of how much I miss the man, and how much of my life he hasn’t been here to see- but it also reminds me of the good times, and how much he really cared about me. It’s hard to explain the sensation. Needless to say, when I found out that Daft Punk was coming to an end, it crushed me. Initially, I felt like this music- something I cherished so deeply and associated with my father- was coming to an end as well. But I’ve finally realized that while all good things must come to an end, the good times don’t have to. Thank you Daft Punk.
