With Leeds he comes in helps us to PL, and then hopefully helps us stay there with significant funds available to develop a PL squad. Without additions we might get in top 2, but hopefully owners see from last season that risk of small squad is just to great.

It's like they didn't learn anything from the lessons of last season, & look how thought it is again at the top, although we are scoring goals we need a really good striker to get us over the line IMO. I hope we don't get pipped at the post again this season 🤷

@@pauljones5831 Bamford sets alarm bells off for me every season. If Bamford is an option off the bench, then for me squad is not good enough. We need a pacy forward to lead the line and hopefully stay fit for more than a few weeks each season.

Of course we need to improve the squad, we don't want to be fighting relegation every season but right now we have the best squad in the championship and I suspect better than at least 3 teams in the premiership, that's all we need until we can strengthen.

I don't understand why we appear to be begging players to come. If he's not for sale then move on. The Kristensen issue, don't want to pay, fine sell him elsewhere, preferably to thier closest rivals. There are plenty of players out there without us paying through the nose. I suspect that people not wanting Archer to come will be the first to complain if we end up not signing any attackers. Sure, you get lucky with a Tanaka every so often but consistently buying PL quality in the Championship is impossible. If it's that obvious that the player is PL quality why on Earth would they want to join us.

I don't understand this "Obligation to buy", if it means you have to buy the player at the end of the loan period then why not just buy the player now?. And if it just means we can choose if we want to buy the player or not what have Southampton got to loose?. They want a obligation to buy in a deal which means they want to sell him doesn't' it?.

Good for this level. Actually probably very good. If it's till end of the year, yeah makes sense. Bit he has to prove premier league level still. But for right now, yeah he'd be a good shout. 11 in 20 at a mid table middlesbrough. So in this league he knows where the goal is. But I get the scepticism, and I think the deal if it happens will tell us the plan.

FARKE brought him back to early causing a relapse and operation needed for Struijk? Rob Price joined Leeds Utd from Hull City in 2018 and was key to everything Marcelo Bielsa did at Thorp Arch. His role under Bielsa and the data on individual players helped to win promotion. Pricey left Leeds at the end of last season to drop down to lowly Derby County? This season we see Patrick Bamford still out of action and cannot get fit, Max Wober played all last season in Germany and for Austria but always seems to be unfit for Leeds. Why was Gelhardt constantly out injured. ….. obviously a fall out with FARKE as Leeds stated they were disappointed to see him leave. Leeds still haven’t replaced him, so let’s face it the players are looked after by a physio now and not getting individual assessments and advice plus individual dietary regimens. Pricey announced he was leaving Leeds and joining Derby before Leeds had chance to react. His leaving was also a story in the New York Times before the 49ers learned about it?

Always dangerous to look at a KZbin highlights video of a player to make a decision should we sign them. After watching a 3 min video on Archer I can tell you he would fall somewhere between Tony Yeboah and JKA as our best January window striker signing 😜 In all seriousness the video I watched hard to tell if the lads right or left footed, great finishing. @@LeedsUnitedTheView He won’t do well in Premier league for us, if we’re as bad as the Blades and saints. Important to remember those 2 teams he played for, won 4 games out of 61 matches. Sheff united 3 wins out of 38, and Southampton 1 win from 23 (so far). Even you would struggle to score goals in teams that bad Ger 😜

I don't really understand why we pluck U21s from First Team football sides and throw them into the Academy under the previso they have to prove themselves.... Haven't they already proved themselves where we bought them? I mean we plucked Monteiro from First Team football in Switzerland, same as Gnonto, but we've thrown him into the U21s whilst the likes of Gnonto and Gray saw first team football. If the kid wasn't good enough when we bought him, Why did we buy them..... Of course he came into the club through Orta, who made all sorts of dubious decisions.

Because the level in England is significantly better than lower table sides. You buy potential and you out them into under 21s to see how they adapt, how they fit, and what their ability is like with other players at that level. Some don't make it, in fact most dont. Less than 1% of young players who sign youth deals at all clubs, sign a second pro deal

Price left Leeds last season. He was replaced internally. And Leeds have a full physio and medical team.
