As someone who hasn't beat the game yet it is very hard to follow your video, but I'm gonna keep it up.

Well, it's true, this format is less friendly for newer players, hence it was changed for the mage and warrior guides. I suggest you trying out to combine this guide (gear, skills and stats) with the warrior's (order of the locations, questing and leveling in general, moneymaking process), see if that helps

@@memefficient Thank you very much, I will try that now. Keep up the good work.

Nice video :) About to start another DA:O play-through and every time I try to play something that isn't back-stab rogue I feel like I'm gimping myself.
@memefficient5 жыл бұрын
Well, there is always a mage class, which can offer you much superior area damage and CC while also totally not lagging behind (prolly even getting ahead at some breakpoints and vs some types of enemies - revenants, for instance) if built right. Hopefully we'll see the guide for it in due time as well :)

You took a really round about way to max level. Just do the Sacred Ashes quest line first, when you beat the dungeon, you get XP for leaving the room. Reenter the room, the exit again, the XP happens indefinitely. Just do this until max.
@memefficient5 жыл бұрын
While it's certainly a real way to lvl up, it has several disadvantages: 1) You'll get around 700 exp per travel (IIRC), and, again, IIRC, only on the way out, so about 350 per area load. Quite slow compared to this method (990 per stack or 880 for PC - there is a limit of 88 roots from a single stack, as I've learned later) and also prone to crash the game (esp. for the newer OS) - that'll also slow you down significantly 2) Even if it's not necessary to beat the Gauntlet (including the reflections) these areas are arguably harder than the Bressilian ones by a mile with loads of elites, mages and Kolgrim (generally people stick to killing him), while Zathrian can be countered with a mere Cleanse spell from Alistair, and the werewolves are the only real threat amongst the trash 3) And, finally, it's a glitch, just as the traps quest (so, not a very legit way to play the game) and it's patched for at least latest console versions. As for the traps glitch replacement - wait for the warrior guide, every source of at least decently easy early EXP for martial classes will be covered there (they differ from the mage ones by some amount)

Would 17 STR 17 DEX at the beginning with grim also work?
@memefficient3 ай бұрын
Sure, if you have the Battledress you'll need less than 20 (depending on the DLC items available) to equip it. 1 from Lucky Stone, Cinch and Pearl, so 17 would be enough. Alternatively, if you don't have any DLC items, endure until Helm of Honnleath (+2) and buy a belt from Tegrin, that dwarven merchant from the most common "random" encounter, that can also do the trick

Did I miss where he mentions gold duping? That's the only way to get all that early game stuff. And it massively op's you. Even Nightmare becomes a bit of a cakewalk with endless gold and all the goodies that that buys.
@memefficient3 жыл бұрын
It's not a duping glitch. The Reaper's Cudgel has abnormally high value and Gorim buys items at 50% of their original price if we're a noble dwarf, not 25 (effectively doubling our gains from the sold items). The main benefit from it are the skillbooks, the rest is not important - most of the gear you see on the PC in the earlygame is either from promo DLC's (added instantly) or from the standalone DLC's (added after earning an achievement - this can take a bit of time, but no more than half an hout for everything but the Cudgel - the Reaper's fight on the Hard difficulty is actually not an easy one with the pre-made character) Since it's a highly specific strat to get rich (noble dwarf, having the Grim Reaper achievement) plus the traps glitch, other guides have more general pathing w/o these things at all - if you wish to check out the pathing, look up for the warrior's guide, the gameplay should be similar

Collect the leather pieces (6 of them, IIRC) within the Leliana's Song DLC for the achievement and, well, the armor
@EG0XD3 жыл бұрын
But why bard instead of duellist?
@memefficient3 жыл бұрын
In short, Duelist is better for any non-Cunning rogues and is perfectly viable for the Cunning ones, but in this case our party would benefit greatly from stacking the songs instead, especially warriors. Duelist provide static buffs (+10 atk/def) and has a great capstone ability. Song of Courage, however, scales with Cunning and gives about the same attack and critical chance and around 6-7 damage, all of which is party-wide.

For a solo rouge then what is the second spec with the first being ranger.? We don't have to consider even spell resistance with the stealth skill?? And for extra damage we can use bombs
@memefficient4 жыл бұрын
I'd say that for solo the best bet would be a ranger-duelist combo if you're willing to abuse the reload mechanic to reset the cooldowns, or the ranger-bard one if you're not. As for the resistances, we can't cap it out (30% from the amulet + 10% dwarf + 10% belt +4% ring = 54%, plus, depending on our farm/luck, something around 10+8*2+6*3 = 34% from runes, topping us at 88%, which is not enough, sadly, not even close), so, for the most part, it's better to roll these dice as less as we can by utilizing stealth and CC to minimize the quantity of spells thrown at us - that's the basic premise. Traps are also essential for soloing, bombs slightly less so, but still mandatory for some fights.
@adrianblania55654 жыл бұрын
@@memefficient you really are a star. 😁 I found only arcane warrior solos. Dual wielders warrior solos. But almost none rouge solos video on youtube.which is kinda wierd

@@memefficient Actually 10+8*2+6*3=44%. That takes it to 98 percent. If you add in ancient elven gloves, it would go past 100%
@memefficient2 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's 10% more so 98%. AEG lower our damage by some margin (around 5-10% from +15% critdamage), but we can swap them after the 1st cast salvo from the mages, so it's a viable strategy after all
@adramahlihko10 ай бұрын
why did you state that the shadow of the empire is better than the leliana dlc one?
@memefficient10 ай бұрын
You mean, as the "2nd BiS"? It's second-best in slot (should be 3rd technically as there's Felon's Coat that ties with the Battledress), as is "if we don't have the first variant available (no DLC or it's equipped on another character) we should use this one as best of the rest" - and for that moment in the playthrough it's certainly true as the Felon's Coat isn't even close to becoming available in a loong time

Wait, are there any hard levels in the game at all? Said by me, a Duelist Rogue with a glitched Rose's Thorn. Never having to use a health pot because i'm a filthy pause gamer.
@memefficient3 жыл бұрын
Well, there are levels that are more... let's say, "statcheck"-y than others - like the Blood Mages' safehouse, Deep Roads and some others. While not hard by any serious games' standarts, they can be much harder than the rest of this casual game - hence they're "hard" by the standarts of the Dragon Age: Origins. Probably...
@Bubbles997183 жыл бұрын
It's hard if you don't dupe gold like this guy did. He took several other "shortcuts" that overpowered himself. Play it straight and it requires thoughtful tactics and strategy, and is brutal.

what belt do yo go ? xD i need so much help with gear xDD lMao
@memefficient3 жыл бұрын
Check out the in-depth guide for the gear info For the belts, Cinch of Skillful Maneuvering is a great start (from the Witch Hunt achievement) and it doesn't get better than this. Andruil's Blessing is slightly better on the damage side, but it costs a fortune and we'll lose 10% of both dodge and magic resist, I wouldn't trade that for measly +1s into stats. Other belts aren't noteworthy, pick w/e is available if these 2 are out of reach
