When I was a kid, my old Playstation used to have these corrupted screens and sounds pop up quite a bit. The visuals got a bit startling, but the random sound corruptions scarred me to the point of either leaving the room or turning off the TV until I thought the game was booted up past the BIOS screen. I'd be afraid just to boot up the system when it was dark. This brings back memories haha

3D model is too big in size to implement that into BIOS. BIOS is 512kb. They even used 3 sounds, but played on different speed and pitch to get startup sound.

The first one would have been a Japanese game on a modded console. The SCEA was the security/region locking, and was stored on the disc, but modded consoles would inject it while the game was loading. Japanese games obviously would have said SCEI and an American console wouldn't play it without injecting the American SCEA the console was looking for.
