In my opinion, the ONLY arable type of farming you should do on this series is the grass work in order to keep the sheep fed. There’s no reason to force arable on this series as it’s done on so many other series.

You are probably gonna need a grass storage barn. Snow stayed on the ground for what felt like 6 months. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to set down a second enclosure of 25 sheep just to boost wool+fabric production. Also, I'm pretty sure that grass field was specifically put there for sheep food/wool production, its literally perfect for it

Suggestion: Since you own the saw mill, you could buy plots 5 and 6 behind it, clear out some space and move your 'business' there (or across the road on plot 8 where there's bit more level ground). Storage, industrial productions, all that. Centralizes everything and gives easy access to the train. Then you can keep your house location looking pretty and pristine :)

I think it'd be super cool if you got a storage pit or whatever so you could use the footage wagon to make silage without having to bail and wrap it. I've never seen you make silage that way in a series and this seems like a great opportunity.

Stage 2 of the boat needs 3600 liters of fabric, so yeah you're gonna need a few sheep to keep it going. The grass going grey/brownish is just dead grass, wich is normal during winter.

I harvested this dead grass and fed it as grass to my sheep. They do ok on it. Took the grass from the big field north of the sawmill. Bought plot 60 I think and just mowed it. I got no time to cultivate. Statistics say its fertilsed lol. Edit: ok Daggerwin did the same, I wasnt finished watching when I commented haha).

@@realslickfast Maybe grass don't die wherever you're from, but here in norway the grass don't survive the winter. In order to have your grass growing faster in the spring all the dead grass need to be removed, either burn it or mow it, so that fresh grass can have room to grow.

You should use an episode or two to do a full clean cut of your property, destump and mow it, then replant it with the trees that get really tall (the dark brown trunks), you can concentrate on the other things while the trees are growing back.

Go explore the end of the map, where the train exits, there's a sell trigger on the player side of the invisible wall that you can chuck products in without needing the train.

The wood chips sell price is really nice on this map (2k pr.1k on easy, 1k on medium). I'm currently doing poplar on the grass field you bought.

I was pretty bummed to see there wasn’t an animal dealer on this map, just a little oversight amongst a few other missed opportunities. Personally, this has became one of my favorite maps regardless. Loving the series so far, I’ve noticed all the pallets will fit width wise perfectly on that low loader, and 2 of the normal sized pallets will load perfectly width wise as well(How the metal was loaded, but from the rear instead of the side) and makes stacking the metal much easier as well. Looking forward to see where you decide to put any new farmland if you go that route!

Daggerwin, if you plough in a grass field on 42 and Precision Farm it, you'll eventually get the Environmental Score Reward for ALL your goods. Well worth doing.

On my map I also have the old saw mill and set the trail behind yarder up to where its just in the pond then run the cable across to clear cut and move it as needed. No need to load on a trailer as it pulls the logs right to the pond. Also at the clearing next to the three ponds just south of the mine, there is a dog carving in the little shed near the observation tower

Hey Daggerwin. Love the vids dude. I just started playing on the new map now. And I stumbled upon a collectable under the old bridge near plot 25 ( I think). I was following the river back down from plot 24 on a dirt trail that runs under that bridge and saw a cut down tree at the base. Think our little friend cut it down. 🤔

The other wrinkle is the sawmill only shows the wood chips in the process (between 10L and 13L) so there’s hundreds or thousands of Ls in the pile but no way to know how much without loading.

I was planning sheep on mine on the grass field next to the new sawmill had mowed and baled all the grass ready for them and then a cotton harvester came up on sale for 230k so I'm doing cotton instead as not really had much experience with cotton

Err, on FS19 the grass stored in the wagon will rot. You need a small silo which will take grass and of a capacity to feed the sheep over winter into spring, and fill it now and replant field for new grass in the spring. Remember it snows November to March.

I’ve been using the unimog on this map wonderful bit of kit, behind the hotel in the area near the mine there’s a carved wild boar , and the little lighthouse next to field 2 has a carved doggawin 👍🏻

Last night I realized that once you own the sawmill, you own the entire plot of land as well, not just the building(s), there's a lot of potential area for other productions, without costing any extra land you could use for farming or forestry

ALSO... the last 4 episodes me telling him he has money in the form of woodchips at his sawmill and also having a woodchipper. Probally have enough woodchips to pay for your sheep! oh and the forklift is perfect for containers also. Please check your woodchips!
