Hi Daggerwin.. I love this build.. I would put locktite on the grubscrew on the engine, as it will be bad it the gear drops of inside the gearbox. To adjust the gear, put a small peace of paper betwine the gear on motor and the big one, then push motor against that paper. And tighten the 2 screws.. then pull paper out, and the gears are not to tight, but just right.. Many vids out there tells you that.. Have a nice day..

Hello I just finished assembling the GB of my MB Actors.

The 540 motor is a Tamiya generic motor. It's in pretty much all of their models except the grasshopper which had the 380. Long motors generally have more torque. Short motors have higher rpm. Often with Tamiya models, the motor tangs (Where the green and yellow wires are soldered on) need to be bent to fit within the model. if you bend the tangs 90 degrees outwards, it should fit better. Also, bare in mind that although all servo's have a generic fitting pattern, the tubs of the servos tend to differ. So although that servo and motor clash, a different servo and/or a different motor may not.

Also, for your next model, get a brushless motor and li-po battery combo. You won't regret it.

Nice gearbox. But it's always a pity that Tamiya uses aluminum or brass gearings. They wear way to fast and then make a cheap noise. Sometimes, they have hardened aluminum gear, but i have never seen steel ones.

The gasket paper thing on the motor is to protect dirt and dust to get into the motor

Not right, its so it cant get from motor to gearbox.. dirt can go in motor through holes in sides of motor..
