Let me help you out here; Dagne Wale is the Artist. "Weyfinkich" means won't budge, won't give in. Language is Amharic and the music and beat is in "Gojam" style. The vocal rhythm (the " uheeheeeee") is called "qererto fukera" it's a typical rhythm or style for call to battle. "Anbesa" means Lion, (every Ethiopian identifies as one). The song is basically the story of the under dog, telling how the singer has been patient when provoked, pushed to his limit (by forces who consider themselves selves better and stronger), and now that he has had enough he says "Weyfinkich". This is basically how Ethiopians (be it in different local languages) rhythmically tell their story . This is how Ethiopian warriors dressed in the battle of Adwa ( all traditional white )the lady on the horse you see is reenacting Empress Tayitu ( wife of HIM Menilim II) leading her own special unit against the Italians in the battle of Adwa. The Grandpa in uniform you see is actually a real patriot who fought against the second and last Italian invasion during the reign of HIM Hailesilasie. Since you asked, the green yellow and red is the flag of the ancient Ethiopian nation. The title of the music is "Wey Finkich, the Amharic equivalent romanization is ወይ ፍንክች" which can be translated as being resilience, or not giving up. In its nature, the music can be categorized as traditional music. The story in the music begins with the anti-colonialism war and the heroic struggle of the black nation and the way how Ethiopia triumph over Italy and maintain its independence. The final part of the music tells us to work arduously to bring a bright present and future because we are the children of those hero fathers, grandfathers, great grandfathers, so and on. Regarding the flag, the green, yellow, and red colored flag is one of the oldest even in the world. During the fight with the Italian, our soldiers used this flag. Most Ethiopian love it, especially the Amhara die for it. First of, the language is Amharic which is the language of Amhara people who are one of the major tribes of Ethiopia and working language of the Ethiopian federal government. As you guessed correctly the song is all about patriotism, courage, standing strong & fighting to defend the freedom of your country (Ethiopia in this case) at ALL COST. In the song, he mentions past rulers (Kings and Queens) of Ethiopia who defended the nation's freedom such as : King Menelik, King Tewodros, King Michael, Patriot Belay Zeleke, Queen Taytu. "Anbesa" means "Lion". The "King of the Jungle" lion is regarded as the symbol of courage in Ethiopia. "Wey finkich" means not flinching, standing tough..all to defend the nation. Ethiopians in general are so much proud of their history as the only non-colonized Africans. This song is in short initiating the youth to keep their proud history of keeping the nation free of any aggressors. In Ethiopian most people dont own guns but the people who live in amhara region the majority own a gun. Amhara is a northern part of ethiopia and the people called amhara.
