You're by far one of my favorite orators of Lovecraft's work. You're voice perfect for this kind of thing, and you can actually express emotion. Thank you for these.

@LadyBernkastel92 Thank you for the compliment! I've had to take some time off from recording for a while, but hopefully I will do more at some point, when I can give these stories the attention they deserve.

Personally, "Dagon" is one of my favourite Lovecraft stories. In fewer pages than most of the others, it pretty much captures the themes typical of him. If I was going to introduce a friend to Lovecraft, I would recommend reading Dagon to get a general impression.

That was an awesome read and you have a great voice. I read along with your telling and picked up so much more. I have read this story before and enjoy Lovecraft's work but Lovecraft can be murder on someone like me (I have dyslexia). Thank you for your reading.

@Riotmakertk You mean the Elder Things, and they created a slave race in the shoggoths. The same Elder Things that had to do a ritual to contact the Old Ones in order to get help beating the Star Spawn (that is only if the story found of them in "At the Mountains of Madness" is correct)

As I've grown older, my perspective of Lovecraft's works have shifted to someone who has come to sympathize with the minions of the Great Old Ones. They really weren't so bad. Most of them seemed like decent folk if you just got to know them. Take the chap from this story: he stumbles upon a civilized, religious creature, can't deal with it and turns to drugs because of his close-mindedness. Then, when the being tracks him down to make peace, he freaks out and kills himself. Typical.

Great voice by the way. Now as for the material: Scary as hell. Lovecraft has to be the most terrifiying author I've ever come across. I read that he based some of these writings on nightmares he had as a child. I love his stuff but man I hope he found some peace in death.

@cerebulon Or, maybe he's just terrified of being dragged away into the night by horrible monsters. After all, if you saw some ancient eldritch horror, would you just go up to it and introduce yourself? It's the same reason you don't hang around in alleyways in the Bronx.: to avoid being killed in the slowest and most painful way possible.

I like your narration too, but let it be known: your voice can at times have a hypnotic, soporific effect and should NEVER be listened to entertain yourself while driving long stretches of open highway at night. I almost ended my life.
