Dahua TiOC - 3 in 1 Camera Review

This is a review of the 5MP TiOC or 3 in 1 Camera by Dahua.
Dahua has released a range of AI cameras called Wizsense. This is the flagship model of the range featuring 3 technologies in one camera:
1. A full-colour image sensor
Unlike typical security cameras that switch to black and white at night time, this camera provides a Full-Color image Day and Night (24/7).
2. An AI Chip
As part of the Wizsense series, this camera includes the AI chip that gives it the ability to filter recorded events to a choice of Humans and or vehicles.
3. Active Deterrence
This camera actively wards of intruders thanks to the in-built speaker, microphone and Blue and Red Flashing strobe lights.

Nice work Security Perth. Dahua should be paying you for these informative videos so other dealers like us could use them. Their marketing here in the US has improved over the last few years. This is good stuff geared for the end-user but still informative. I just Demo's the 4mp Color / Thermal camera to a client this past Sat trying to use the 2-way audio to find it is in only RCA inputs. It's nice this one has that. It would be great to hear that work. We need to set one up and try. This is a great camera from our security alarm background as it is 'active'. Kudos to your explanation and Dahua! They have come a long way. Still, a bit to be desired on the functionality user operation but a big improvement. This is a lot of cameras for the money and I think its smart to build your bundle around them. Do you guys charge more or T&M for setting up additional features? That is where A LOT of time gets sucked up with the types of smart cams.

Is the alarm input and output a dry contact? Or does voltage pass through when the camera is connected via Poe and require termination if not being used?

the model of our NVR is: DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-4KS2. We've had it for a while and not upgraded the NVR for the features shown. Note firmware: V4.001.0000003.1, Build Date: 2020-08-13

Great review, just a couple of questions, currently have a mix of hikvision & Dahua cameras, they run on my symbology NAS is a dedicated NVR required to utilise all the features offered?

The features reside on the camera. You can set all the functions on the camera so long as it resides on the network independently. A Dahau NVR makes it easier.

The Hikvision NVR can accept a feed from these cameras via a local IP address and using the Onvif adding method.

I definitely wouldn't use them for a Military or sensitive job but typical biz or residence, I think they are fine from my experience. They certainly don't want hacks and have improved their security with the latest software.

Would love to see your setting your talking about where you can choose 2 different alarms on your TIOC for same events just different times? I don't know of such setting? I mean I can as I have setup 2 different Rules that has different Audio Outputs however I don't know of such a setting you have stated where you can setup 1 rule and have 2 audio output one for Alarm and one for PVT land keep off? 2 rules sure 1 rule no? How can you do it on your camera as you made Statement that you can?

Personally I would look at the 4216E-AI NVR.. If you have not already installed a NVR for your AI cameras. It has mean features and things that I personally don't feel like I want to be without these days.

Are you getting a lot of false alarms? the only reviews out there seem to bag the false detections being a flaw, but not much positive reviews (to be honest wasn't much reviews to begin with when googling). Keen to hear how they've been for you if they're on the outside perimeter. particularly if you have a dog?

No problem with false alarms only the occasional if my car is parked half way in the shot and the shadows from above tree are moving over the car. The 5mp is far better then the 8mp at night and almost as good during the day. If I get more they will be all 5mp

Hi, If you are using the camera as a stand alone camera with an sd card, I only want it to notify me when the camera is armed in the app. I am not interested when is sees any human motion when the camera is unset. how do you go about doing this because I don't get any notification.

Unfortunately the AI on these cameras isn’t as good as expected. I have seven TIOC 2.0 4K cameras and on low sensitivity I get human activity alerts for birds walking on the ground in the cameras field of view plus also my dog is picked up also. Hope software updates will fix the problem.

There are a few things that you would want to look at if you feel that your camera is really a TIOC 2.0 and you have the issue you state. 1 Make sure that you have the Human enabled. Also make sure that if you do and there is still an issue that you are setup with your camera in a Good DORI setting. If you are outside of the cameras ability then it will (Can) False. Then you could go to the area where you Draw your line (For Lines crossing) or the Box (Intrusion) and at the top next to the Trash can is 2 boxes. These boxes if you click will bring up a Min and Max image setting for your camera. You will want to setup the Min (Small box in the center of the screen) to something that works for your AREA of VIEW. Personally I have many different cameras. Out of all of my Dahua format AI cameras I don't have any one of them going off at any time outside of what is chosen for the Effective Target be it a camera that I have setup for Human or one I have setup for Motor Vehicle. I get only alerts for that.. Here is another issue that can happen. If you have your camera setup for Motion it might be triggering on a motion event and the recorder (if setup to one) don't have the ability to understand true AI that your camera offers. I have a few Videos on my Channel showing many different things. I personally don't own a Tioc 8mp camera as most of my REAL AI cameras are 4mp or lower. My 8mp cameras while they are Semi AI they don't have the Target Filter option so yes spiders, rain, snow, dogs and cats will set off the alerts so I setup that camera on my AI NVR on a Ai feature built into my NVR for only doing the real Filter. Then I get the alerts for Humans and Vehicles as expected. However I know the limits of my Cameras...
