Dai 2 Ji Super Robot Taisen Original Generation : Melior Esse attack compilation

The Melior Esse are basically the combat generals from the Ruina army, original enemies that were created for Super Robot Taisen D. Melior Esse means "Superior Presence" in latin.
The Melior Esse were created by Perfectio as to arrange the foundations of his forthcoming to this existence plane, basically he needed to be feed with as many negative feelings as possible before being able to materialize himself. It could be surmised that Perfectio only saw them as disposable tools, as neither of them are meant to live particularly long life spawns.
The Ruina were meant to have no emotions, however pretty much all of them developed the ability to show feelings through the course of the story, not all feelings are positive ones, though; for example Ignis first developed a budding almost fraternal relationship with Glacies as they were created at the same time, that feeling also caused Ignis to resent Josh since the encounters that he had with Glacies started to change her, and after Glacies betrays the Ruina Ignis develops a full blown hate for Josh "for making her weird". In that sense Contagio & Umbra were the most loyal Ruina retainers as they never gave sings of developing any feelings that would get in the way of their job and were always wholly dedicated to their original duty. Aquila's feelings were "the will to show his combative spirit" and loyalty to "his king".
BTW, Ventos was not one of the combat general of the Ruina, even though he was meant to be one of the Melior Esse; that's probably a side effect of having being seen as a failure by the rest of the generals. The video is lacking Glacies and Ventos as they don't stick to the Melior Esse till the end.
Due to Perfectio's nature, it might be not an outstretch to think that the Melior Esse originally were the crew in charge of investigating the Fabra Fores, but that wasn't really ever touched upon.
The characters shown in this vid are Contagio piloting his Violaceum , Aquila and his Fortis Ala, Ignis and his Impetus and Umbra with her Priscus Nox As a trivia, I'll tell you that not only Umbra is a girl, but her voice actor is also female (it's Ushida Hiroko).

Aside from Umbra all the Melior Esse were created on Earth (by Umbra) And for the record, Ignis had a one-sided attraction to Glacies, they weren't friends. Ignis hated Josh for "stealing" his "love." Glacies and Ventos were abandoned as bait for Josh and Rim due to their "contamination" anyway. Also, the Fabra Fores ("Makers Doors") was just unknown ancient technology in D, now it's the name Perfectio uses for the Crossgates, which is telling about their origin, given Perfectio's likely "age."

For some reason, it bugged me that in Destiny, Umbra/Priscus Nox, being the final Melior Esse, is the strongest, but in 2nd OG, despite still being the final one fought, and effectively being the leader, the Priscus Nox is the overall weakest of the loyal Melior Esse. The Priscus Nox has only around 120,000 HP, while Impetus, the next lowest, has about 150,000. Her attacks aren't really any stronger, and her stats aren't significantly better than any of the others. She doesn't have any sort of barrier or defensive skills like Mirage that make her tougher to hit.

I'm not sure if I remember this stuff to a T, but basically is an "unknown structure" from which Yosh's dad pulled out pretty much all of his research materials and stuff. Eventually it's revealed to be a structure that the "ancients" who sealed Perfectio build for that very same purpose.

Aquila's got nothing to do with elements, but Fortis Ala is the name of his machine, which means "Strong Wing." The Eagle was the symbol of ancient Rome, which fits the Latin theme. And both Fabularis and Studium aren't named with elements in mind, Fabularis being "legend" and Studium being "study." Furthermore, Perfectio means exactly what it looks like, and Fatum means fate, so it's not like there's a coherent "elemental" scheme to begin with (it's not like infection was a classical element.)

It wasn't mentioned, but probably not. It's hinted that whatever ancients fought Perfectio eventually meet their demise due to the consequences of picking a fight with him. I'm not sure if the ones that the Four Gods are speaking about are still alive yet, and the ones that the Einst watched where never mentioned as "ancient" and it's implied that they are still around.
