My favorite part of this was the 'Oh my fucking god' comment. I almost choked. I would buy that from your merch store if it was on a t-shirt or coffee cup.

I'll try it. I mean, I'll probably regret it, but I'll try it.

I actually enjoyed both. But I also like weird cheeses ;)

I think you should try all of the þorrablót food that is preserved in whey. Were' talking ram testicles, pigs feet, Slátur/Blóðmör etc.

After a night of too much opal and brennivin I took one whiff of this and threw up. I would never eat it

Yeah, that's definetly the worst thing I have ever tried, but it's fun to narrate the whole experience at parties

I tried it... Twice. Because I heard Antony Bourdain saying he would never want to eat it again and honestly, it’s not that bad. Please pay attention: it’s not bad, it’s also nowhere near being good lol

That brand is not very strong, just 37,5 vol-% of alcohol. Strongest brands I found available is 47%. I think those are closer to the original "fire water".

Koreans ferment their food by burying it in the ground in a jar for months and the Vietnamese also ferment their fish in a big vat for months. None of it sounds very good. So your Icelandic swordfish is off the menu as far as I am concerned.

Korean KimChi (fermented vegetables) and Vietnamese Nuoc Mom (fermented fish sauce) are indeed both acquired tastes the same as are English Marmite and Branson pickle relish. It's a matter of savoring another culture's tastes without comparing them to your own. You do yourselves a great disservice when you let other people distort your expectations and perceptions of another cultures food!
