Q: Do you do these spreads after the week is over?
A: I always film myself creating these spreads before the week has started and continue to fill it out during the week. I collect the footage at the end of the week and do my voiceover which is why everything I say is in past tense! I always prefer to plan ahead~
Q: How do you use so many planners at the same time?
A: Every week, I choose a few planners for me to use so I’m not actually using ALL of my planners every single week! For example, I always choose a planner for me to take on the go, one for academics, one for business, and one that is more decorative and fun. Part of what I do is showcasing spread ideas so that is why I have so different layouts!
Q: How did you learn your lettering?
A: This is a pretty annoying answer but...practice practice practice! I didn’t use a book or a single resource to learn. I honestly just picked up on the different types of lettering through my daily life (things like book covers, posters, etc.) and practiced whenever possible!!!

When I used to do planning for work and life, my planner already had my tasks for the day when I woke in the morning. I'm a night person so I'd write my repeating tasks down sometimes several days in advance, and appointments. Whenever I had a free moment I'd write things down for upcoming days.. My planner was never just completely blank or I'd think I had nothing to do that day.

Okay I'm only at 1:11 in the video but I have to stop to squeeeeee about how excited I was when you showed Song of Achilles!!! That's one of my fave books EVER! I listened to it on Audible too and I highly recommend the audiobook version too, the narrator is AMAZING, he voices Achilles and Patroclus soooo well (and all the other characters too, like Chiron). When I read the paperback I can then hear the voices of the characters! Btw get ready for an emotional journey, both my mom and I were bawling towards the end of the book 😭🥰 ahhh I'm just so excited that you're reading it Helen! It seems like you're going through a bunch of my fave books lately (All The Light We Cannot See was another of my faves!) I highly recommend reading Circe next btw, another epic read by the same author! 💖

Now that I've finished the video I came back to say that 1) I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love your vlog style videos sooo much Helen! 2) omg I'm so amazed you can keep up with your daily journaling with all the crazy busyness in your life! Kudos!!! March in my Cousin is looking pretty blank I've not been able to journal daily but I'm really missing it so gonna get back to it! & 3) I know you don't have much time for fun reading, but I have a few book recs for you after Song of Achilles... Circe of course by the same author, but also, have you heard of Janie Chang? She's one of my favourite authors! She's a Vancouver BC author who writes historical fiction stories set in China, based on her family's history and she adds in some fantastical elements like fox spirits etc, her writing is exquisite, I highly recommend! My faves are "Dragon Springs Road" and "Three Souls". Also I love Lisa See's books as well. Also historical fiction, my fave of hers is "Island of Sea Women" about women divers on Jeju Island. It's a society where the women work and the men stay at home with the kids, it was fascinating! I should stop before my comment is an essay, but I hope you enjoy these books if you get a chance to read them one day! 📚❤️ (also way to go fixing that lettering mistake, it looked like it was meant to be that way after you were done! 👌)
