As a European I just have to say "free health care" is not free but it is a dispersed payment. It is actually an government mandated insurance scheme. It has its benefits but also has some downsides.

@@a-sane-person That is often used but in the same way it isn't free it is also not universal. Don't get me wrong though, I am not saying it is a worse system just that it has it's own set of issues that are not easily addressed just as a privatised system does. Different issues to be sure but it is far from perfect.

@@a-sane-person Well in the UK it's the National Health Service and for what it provides that is as good a name as any. The name doesn't suggest anything beyond what it is. A service provided by the nation to all, it's not universal or free but it is there when you need it and at least at the point of contact does a pretty good job. Admin and back end costs are significant though and more often than not it is being run by bean counters

At 2:51; I wish that I could find a pair of pants that I liked and buy nine pairs. Nominally, I need 40W x 36L, down from a 42 waist. Fortunately, the leg length style means that a 34 leg does not look uncomfortably short, so I can get away with pants that are 40W X 34L. I can go into a big box men's clothing store, buy EVERY pair of pants that fit that I find on the shelves, without spending any money (because there are none). On my most recent outing, there were TWO pairs of pants that were 40W x 34L, so, of course, in a bucolic state of joy, I bought both. Even going online does not guarantee that pants that I like are available in my size. Mark's has my fealty, because you can search their online products based on size availability.

I never understood the whole paying for water and toilets thing, for water I can sort of get (pipes aren't always as clean) but peeing is just a basic need. If you need to take a shit, just go home, most of the time there is a house nearby, besides most toilets are free in the part of Europe where I live (a very western country) so making people pay with a toilet that's free in the area is just stupid.
