At 0:10, back in the day, televisions used cathode ray tubes ('cathode rays' was the term for emissions from the negative electrode [cathode] in a vacuum tube, the name stuck even after cathode rays were determined to be electrons). Those old TVs used particle accelerators to make phosphor dots emit light. Along with visible light, they also emitted X-rays. As ionizing radiation can be harmful, we were warned not to sit too close to them. "The Simpsons" has a joke about this with the TV that Homer watched as a child being a "Rad King" brand and the TV room having a permanent shadow cast by Homer on the wall from the TV. At 8:25, I was disappointed that the last panel was not some Canadian geese.
