CORNBREAD RECIPE
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
⅔ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
⅓ cup neutral oil or melted butter
1 large egg
1 cup milk
1. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or cast iron skillet well and set aside. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Whisk to combine well.
3. Make a well in the center of your dry ingredients and add your oil or butter, milk, and egg. Stir just until the mixture comes together and there are only a few lumps remaining.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is a deep golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
CHILI RECIPE (I always double this recipe for leftovers)
1 pkg. McCormick® Seasoning Mix
1 lb. lean ground beef (or whatever meat you choose)
1 can (14 ½ oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 to 16 oz.) kidney, pinto beans or black beans undrained
Assorted Toppings: shredded cheese, chopped onions or sour cream
1. BROWN meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat, or not!
2. STIR in Seasoning Mix, tomatoes and beans. Bring to boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with toppings, if desired.

We do have grits! And I love grits. Ohhhh so hard to decide which dog is smarter because they’re both extremely intelligent. Bradley has way more energy than Gunner. Gunner is def the more careful, safe, serious one where Bradley is just all fun. Often times he’ll jump for a ball without looking first type thing. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I make cornbread pretty often. I melt 1/2 stick of butter in my black iron skillet. When melted, I pour half of it in the cornbread batter, mix in and then pour the batter in the black iron skillet and bake. This is how my husbands’ aunt taught me to make it. I fix this when I make soup beans and cottage ham.

Yes I hate taking down the decorations as well. It is so bland especially cuz I put them up in September and decorate for fall first...even my tree goes up with fall flowers on it. Then fall comes down after Thanksgiving and Christmas goes up. That is 4 months of beautiful decorations!!! Room is looking really good Joe is doing a great job!

When I lived in Alaska we would go out and find a young Birch Tree and cut it down. Put it in a coffee tin can or bucket, add sugar water with rocks to hold the tree. The tree would put out buds but we would leave it up until after Easter. Decorate it for Valentine’s Day and Easter with lights. It takes the place of the Christmas tree where it’s not so plan in the house and it’s fun for the kids.

You're lucky to have a husband who can do so many things & shows how much he loves you. Love the interaction between you & Lexi. Wish my daughters' would have trained there dogs like you have. One daughter's husband let's their dog up on furniture, including back of sofa, & she's moved to bite her when she tried kissing her husband. Dog is spoiled & she's jealous of affection she shows the husband. Not good. Look forward to your videos & seeing the boys learning & outside having fun.

Yeah we’ve never let our pets on our furniture. I just can’t stand all the hair on my clothes. And when I see people’s cats on their counters and kitchen table it totally grosses me out lol!

I just enjoy watching your family. Your a great cook so is Joe. Love those dogs they are so smart and well behaved I have a chihuahua she is about 5lbs a big baby and is great with everyone. Love what Joe is doing to your new room so far. I noticed kellen has the nicest handwriting when he does his homework your doing such a good job with the boys. All my kids are gone im alone but they visit alot. Here in Kentucky last week we have had at least 8 inches of snow here everyone panics im use to snow im originally from Michigan. I quess im rattling off here. But I watch you at night when im in bed it really relaxes me keep doing what your doing your a great mom and wife. Sometimes I feel like I'm there with you and would love to have you as my daughter we have so much in common. Sorry I talked your ear off but I enjoy you family. Take care joanne

Lexxy is so beautiful! I hate taking down Christmas decorations, the house feels so plain afterwards. I don't put a tree up anymore as we live so far out no one ever sees it, and my husband won't help so its just too much to put up and take down myself. The neighbors are so far away they don't see it either and it's not visible from the road. Our big windows are on the side of the house. I just love your dogs, they are so handsome and smart!
