I’ve been with you since the beginning.. I just love you and respect your way of living. I think letting the world know about your daughter is so huge! I guess I want to say that I’ve read all of the comments thus far-you’re so loved! It’s actually refreshing to see others maybe not agreeing with you or maybe just not understanding your family’s life choices.. But it seems like many are having open discussions about this and you’re responding with love and understanding while still standing your ground. I love this! This is what your channel is all about!!! We all don’t have to agree but we can still enjoy one another’s company. And.. I love that some subscribers didn’t even acknowledge that you even brought up your daughter! Other things were more important! Like books, cooking, and life itself. This is why I love you and this channel! You’re a gift! So embrace those that may not understand and love the contrast life has given us. Freedom to choose! All my love❤

What a beautiful share Ida May thank you so much. You are so right The discussion is the best thing and not everybody is going to understand or agree and that is fine. I love that they’re showing up that they’re speaking their truths and being open minded and it just these kind of conversations helps everybody to understand something that’s complex and open their minds and their hearts to differences.❤❤❤

Oh Kate - I got so excited to see that this was a 2-hour video. YAY!!! And this was SUCH an especially great video for so many reasons. I also appreciate that Mariah (is that spelling correct??) requested that you share this with us, and am SO glad and grateful that you're supportive in the ways that you are. What a blessing that is. Our kids need our support and love; they most definitely don't need us adding to the noise they're getting from others. Just really appreciating you. Thanks again, always, for being here.

I've been watching those videos also about processed foods. I recently did a blood test and found out I'm allergic or intolerant to many foods. Most meats, gluten, eggs, salmon, soy, dairy, some nuts and about 20 more foods came up as intolerances or allergies. This led me to watch videos and reading books about gluten and grains. I'm in the process of figuring out what i can actually eat without digestive issues. I think everyone would find it helpful to learn about grains, their connection to inflammation which causes many diseases. It's all a learning process.

I recently made up a tofu scramble mix to sprinkle on the tofu... it has tumeric, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, nutritional yeast, and a bit of dill weed in it. It really makes a nice scramble. And I have one of those choppers that breaks up ground beef that I chop up the tofu as it cooks, and it ends up looking like scrambled egg too. I'm trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate what you share as it gives me ideas to try.

Dearest Kate... what an amazing mom you are!! Amongst other things. One of those other things is that you are incredibly honest and REAL. I will be honest, as a 44 year old mom of two young children myself, I am very accepting of others and their way of life, however, I am struggling understanding some of the trans issues of today. I may not understand it, but I would never shun anyone for their choices. I am thrilled and excited about the prospect of learning from you. It makes me SO happy to know how loving and accepting you are of Mariah. Thank you in advance for sharing this extremely private journey in hopes of educating people like me:) Peace to you and your precious family... Molly included!

Kate you are so right about the processed foods not filling you up. We , or at least I, am starting to eat more and more whole and no fast or processed foods I figured out about 5 years ago that I am allergic to Aspertame. Nasty stuff! For me anyway Eat crap and feel like crap Little fried, fast, greasy, or spicy (unfortunately) food for me! Summer is here and there are so many fresh fruits and veggies available. I realize not everyone can afford or have access to them but fast and processed definitely isn’t cheaper nor better for you!

Let Mariah know that she's very sweet & courageous to want to share her story in hopes that it could help others. 💖😁👍 Your family is so close and amazing. On a very different subject, I know you mentioned Vivi in the Garden (I think that's her channel name. I always get it wrong.) Anyway, I just love her. I watch her all the time. However, I'm not sure if anyone else told you in the comments but she's giving up her allotment. I can't remember why you brought her up but I think it was to get gardening advice from. She's got a ton of those videos and are still a good watch for anyone who wants to get into gardening. Also, your house is looking so lovely and cozy.

Hi, Kate! Looking forward to seeing your garden this year. Our garden has been a mess for about three years. A simpler life brings peace and clarity. My favorite channels are those from other countries. We in the US have pretty unrealistic expectations of life. Africans and eastern Europeans are more realistic and find use, joy, and peace in little everyday things. Edit: to correct spelling.

I love seeing Molly and seeing you talk to and interact with her. I miss my little girl dog so much. I love our 3 big guys, but there is something special about little girl dogs. Did Mariah pick out her name because she just liked that name or was there a specific reason she chose it? I’ve just always, even as a very young child, been very curious and interested in names. I’m not an avid cook, but I’m starting to try different seasonings and attempt making some simpler sauces. I love your videos, Kate. I learn, am entertained, encouraged, get new ideas, feel support… it really is like hanging out with a friend.

Watching this video makes me think about the poster board I saw on the side of the road many years ago. It was the typical photo of a little boy on a pony the one where they used to come around to the neighborhood and take the picture... it was captioned " would you love me any less if you knew I was gay?" I thought about it because I had an infant son at the time. He is now 40 going on 41. Now 30 something years later I think back on it and no matter what nothing would cause me to lose love for my son. I do believe there are children/people with chromosomal issues. However I do feel that in today's society it is taken to a different level and children are being given hormones way too early in life to change the sexuality they were born with. If I were a parent of a young child I would encourage just allowing time to unfold and for me personally I would pray for guidance. I'm sure this is very difficult for you Kate but you are a good mother and I'm sure you will all come out of this okay❤

I found a channel on YT today that is cool that I thought I would share with you. I was looking for a salad rolls video as I am going to make some of them tomorrow and I just happened upon his channel : Yeung Man Cooking. He seems to be a vegan chef too.

For a good series read try Louise Penny. The first book in her series is Still Life, and then number 2 is Fatal Grace. It’s a long series and the second book is better than the first and they just keep going for a long time. I can’t remember exactly how many were in the series but I absolutely loved them. I think it was something like 19. Anyway if you can get a couple to try, you might like them.

I just ordered A Fatal Grace. You said the second was better so I'll start with the better to see if I like it. Thank you!

Enjoyed the video. I think the main thing is that Mariah feels supported as she navigates this time, and you are doing that well:)

Mariah is a beautiful name. 😊Thank you Mariah for sharing with us. My nephew is trans male and I also have a good friend who`s son is also trans male. I`m glad you are very accepting and supportive of her choice Kate. I`m sure it means the world to her.

I feel that soooo much! I feel so much more creative when we have less! I have to make what we have feel magical and abundant. When we have more, it feels like I’m wasteful and I quit get overwhelmed with a house filled with stuff.

Also, yes! I adore your simplistic channel. This life sometimes gets lonely and your sweet channel is just like sitting down with a best friend. ❤️ Now talk to us about what to expect during peri cause I’m just starting and some days it feels like I’m going to DIE!!! Drama, maybe but no one tells us we are going to loose our mess at 40 😂

I'm not sure anymore that I was going through peri because I'm still having cycles and I feel very happy most of the time. I did use natural estrogen and progesterone, multi vitamins, changed and cleaned up my diet and exercise almost daily, lol. All of that did a 180 on my moods. Oh, and I got rid of extra stress and work. Yes, so I don't know what's happening now. I may be in it now! But I feel great.

I just got to the part of your video where you talked about Mariah . One of our grandchildren who has always been considered a girl , wants to be called he /him\them. And goes by a different name that is similar to their original name. I can’t begin to understand but I give him all the respect I can. I’m proud of our daughter and son I law for supporting him whether they understand it or not. He’s going to be 16 and he has been living this way for going on for two or three years now and I’ve never seen this child happier. Go with your gut it’s your child and you know best.

You know my fav is 11/22/63 by Stephen King except the last chapter which was written by his son I think. You don’t really need to read the last chapter. Their also was a short mini series with same title which starred James Franco. Nicholas Sparks and John Grisham are great authors too.

I’m reading the century trilogy by Ken Follett. I’m on the second book, and they are fascinating. Even with 2 littles, I’m staying up so late reading because I’m so into the stories and the different point of views of history.

My daughter had to read The Silent Patient for her A-Levels (UK aged 17), it sounded too disturbing for me! Anthony Horowitz - Twist of the knife was an interesting take on a mystery. I can’t do too much horror so I read a lot of Poirot and Miss Marple !

I was prepared by my friend Oregon, whose has a transgender grandson now. That prepared me. I absolutely love who Mariah is becoming and I watch her blossom and thrive as this person so it’s easy to support it. Thank you so much for sharing, and I love having people in this community who also have transgender children, and I hope everyone who does or grandchildren will share with us.
