You should go watch a theater show in Petro Marko theater in Vlore. They are playing Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, which takes place in Illyria (Albania). Tickets are very cheap, it will be in Albanian but you already know the English play anyway ;)

Or you can call Ademi - 682239318 (taxi driver I use when I travel Tirane-Vlore-Tirane when in Albania, I don't know if he knows any English so you have to find an Albanian to talk to him). You can ask him if he can pick you up where you are and drop you at 21 Dhjetori (21 December Square in Tirana) for only 40 euros. He does Tirane-Vlore_Tirane every two days but he lives in Durres. These shared taxies do there and back once or twice a day and make around 80 euros for a round trip, 10 euro each person x 4 people. If you call other taxis like "blue taxi" (in Tirana) they charge minimum 60 euros one way because they calculate that they might turn back empty. Whereas the taxies that pick up or drop of at "Square 21" in Tirana they do round trips and will not leave unless they get 3 or 4 people.

Just an update guys…the new Vlora airport will be opened by spring of next year and there is also a railway upgrade in the works to restore the train service from Vlore all the way to Durres with a connection to Vlora airport. Also expected next year will be the completion of the new Tirana main bus terminal with organized routes and set times.

This is what I found. August 9, 2024 - Albania’s newest international airport, located near the coastal city of Vlora, is set to open in the summer of 2025. This new gateway is expected to play a key role in boosting tourism and connecting the country to more global destinations. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the news today, along with a video update on the airport’s construction. According to Rama, the runway will be ready for European certification tests by the end of this year. “This is an exciting time for Albania,” he said, pointing out that the airport will soon welcome its first passengers.

Thanks for this series. It will be helpful for our Albania planning. I like this place. I love those buildings along the walkway from the bus. When you said street dogs I immediately think of hot dog stands in Toronto. I do like the longer videos for the reasons you mentioned, watching on my TV for longer bouts of time.

@qwc440 honestly, Vlorë was probably out favorite place we stayed....... would definitely go back for longer! It just seemed easy with lots of room to walk around

I just stumbled across your channel. I am in Durres and plan to go to Vlore from here. However, I am concerned now about the bus schedule! I think you are saying that I will need to go to Tirana first. Oh, man...I'm interested in taking in all the sites and visiting both the salt lands and Zvernec Island

Most of the trees on the promenade in Vlore are new. It was built in 2017 and most of the trees were bought in Italy already grown. Very expensive.

@ Probably because i put a link of the official government site for transport. There are 4 daily direct buses from Durres Plepa to Vlore. E Transport Albania site has got the timetables. Never ask a taxi driver for public transport. Even if the bus is Literally in front of you, the taxi driver will say it doesn’t exist.

Holy crap! I just googled them, they ARE poisonous of consumed! They have cardiac properties that can show your heart rate! Wow! Thanks for sharing

@@wattstraveling yes, I know. So are cherry pits and apricot pits as well. Oleanders are everywhere in the area. Italy has the highways, city streets and promenades decorated with them. They are very pretty when they bloom and they bloom all summer and part of Autumn. I have sucked on them when I was a kid, because we did some other flowers as they had a sweet nectar but oleanders are bitter and so I spitted it out. Nothing happened though, so probably the amount matters. It just goes to show that most people are good, because there are a lot of things in nature that can be used for evil doing and even though most people lack the knowledge there are a lot who do know these things. hahaha
