**FULL DISCLOSURE** I pre-filmed this video a bit ago to post while I head out of town this weekend. I am well aware that Lennon the Bunny posted a very similar video earlier this week. I contemplated not uploading this, because her video contained such wonderful and valuable information, but I decided that the information in both videos was different enough, and USEFUL enough, to have both out there. If you want even more tips on when to take your rabbit to the vet, and more severe signs that something is wrong, check it out here: bit.ly/3qvJGtN

If you keep your bunnies in hutches with wire bottoms always line atleast 50% of the cage with hay except their litter corners to keep from sore hocks, and you can use a large ceramic tile in their hutch to lay on and keep them cool in the summer. If they are on wire and you don’t use preventative measures they WILL get sore hocks and it is so painful for them !!!!

Thankyou for the info. My rabbit has sometimes not been intrested in her evening supper and I was nervous, but just like other animals, she might not of been so hungry right then. So, I did not panic and she went in her little house, but an hour later, she ate. So this does happen from time to time. Enjoy your informative video's and Cinnabun !!

I'm surprised you've never talked about flystrike, what it is, the symptoms to look for, and how to prevent it. Flystrike is terrifying but it's important to spread the knowledge of it. My dad kept rabbits indoors in a bunny room in the basement, and one of them died to fly strike. This was back in the dark ages of information. 92.

Hi I live in a trailer and I work at Pizza Hut for 6 hours a day, And I'm thinking about getting a bun bun of my own. And I've been watching everything I can find on bunnies and reading everything I can read on the internet about rabbits. I want a free roam rabbit. But I live in a trailer because I'm kind of broke. I'm working on fixing the broke part before I get a rabbit so that I can properly take care of it when I acquire rabbit. I would like some advice on exactly how to care for a rabbit. Like how much veggies and how many times a day should I give them how many times a week I should change the litter how long I should keep them in a big large penned off area. Any advice is welcome thank you
@odyssey.theoddity2 жыл бұрын
at least 1 cup of veggies per 2lbs of body weight daily. litter box cleaning depends on how dirty it is, I suggest 101rabbit’s video for that :) make sure the area is still large and at least 6 hours is preferred if not more.
@mw-cy1zf2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Some important things to know before getting a rabbit: 1. They need to be kept in pairs 2. Space requirements at least 3 sqm per rabbit at all times with additional free roaming time (that might be a bit hard to do in a trailer) 3. Hay available at all times+loads of herbs, veggies, weeds etc 4. Enrichment is very important, bored rabbits are pretty good at destroying everything! 5. Vet costs can be very expensive since they need a specialized vet! That was a pretty short summary, if you want to know more about any of these points or any sources that back me up, I'd be happy to comment again! Just didn't want to write an awfully long comment that nobody would read anyway ;)

Pls pls pls check out the KZbin channel "Lennon the Bunny". She has videos on everything revolving around rabbit diet, traveling with your rabbit, and vet visits. Rabbits need hay at all times, need fresh veggies daily. Pellets are a very small portion of their diet. But pls go to the KZbin channel I suggested to get more information😊❤️

Stasis is the most common, and when you see your Bun is not right, acting quickly is important..It saves you time and money..You should always have on hand Simethicone gas relief drops..Walmart has it the cheapest..They usually work quickly. Once a hr for 3 hours, and then once every 6 hrs. My Buns after the first 1 or 2 drops show immediate improvement. Also ask your vet so you can have it on hand, Reglan to go to the bathroom, and metcam for pain. I start all 3 of these when bunny is not feeling good. But if you just have Simethicone that usually will snap bunny out of it, and it doesn't harm bunny. Also have on hand quick recovery food, you will need to feed bunny if he's not eating on his own. Soon as you get bunny take him to the vet for check up, and to establish he is a patient..In case of emergency you will always get in to see the vet..Rabbit vets being they're few and far between will take care of regular customers first, and may not take you at all if your not established.

So it seems like my bunny doesn’t know how to use chew toys. We picked some safe sticks outside and he wouldn’t chew them. He doesn’t really seem to know how to get the pellets from toys either. I know he lived in a cage (he still does until everything is bunny proofed) and barely had any enrichment in his cage but maybe there is something else behind this? I was just wonder if there is something I can do to make him happier.

To find the veteran office that I take my rabbits to I called the vet that I take my dogs and cats to, and they recommend a few to me. :)) The exotic vets office that I go to is really good with my bunnies, so If you are struggling finding a vet I would definitely recommend calling your local vet and asking them for recommendations!! 😊

@babynieve96122 жыл бұрын
@@bnnyhlp952 why?
@bnnyhlp9522 жыл бұрын
@@babynieve9612 a few reasons why they should not be used: 1. rabbits are prey animals, they don't like to be confined. Clothes, leashes, harnesses etc are uncomfortable for them. 2. When they're frightened by something when you're out and try to run away, the harness can tighten around their throat, causing them to not be able to breathe and because their spines are so delicate, it's not uncommon for them to hurt their vertebrae. 3. There are no real benefits to walking your rabbits. They should get everything they need from their enclosures/area they're housed in. Being in new environments isn't something they favor. A partner, lots of enrichment and things like digging boxes are enough to keep your rabbit content :) for me personally, nr 2 is the most important reason!
