Excellent video, I'm Brazilian and I'm improving my English to try to become a driver here in Brighton and Hove. Your video made me quench a little!

Thanks for taking the time to put these up, it’s been a very long time since I’ve been on a bus in the Brighton/Worthing area - over 25 years in fact! On the week around my 16th birthday my family stayed at West Sands in Selsey. I found out about the (then) Stagecoach Coastline Freedom weekly ticket, available from the driver and with a massive area it covered. I spent pretty much the whole time exploring the south coast on Stagecoach buses 👍🏼 It was a brilliant time, Leyland National 2s on the 702, Volvo B10M PS on the 60, Alexander RL Olympians on the 700, Alexander Leyland Olympians on the Selsey/Wittering, a proper mixture. I did the 700 in one go on a Sunday as the timetable was tighter, but a round trip (CHI-STS-BRI-CHI) was still seven hours! So much has changed, the Coastline name doesn’t exist now, neither does the 702, the 700 doesn’t run as a full route and of course the vehicles are all modern. I won’t forget that summer in 1998 though, an excellent time! Cheers and all the best 👍🏼

@@Thebusdriverphotographer No probs and I have seen what you mean in another video about Stagecoach’s long duties. I recall one garage (Basingstoke) had on their 1998 timetable a 13:05 spread duty, 06:20 to 19:25. On a subsequent roster I heard of a duty which paid 12:40 so goodness knows how long that was. I was hoping that sort of stuff was in the bad old days but maybe not looking at the other video. Was the splitting of the 700 to do with getting the route length down and avoiding EU regulations? I recall Coastline had major problems with the EU rosters which lost loads of mileage. Glad B&H is a bit better than that and wishing you well on the buses, cheers

How do you know all route or you can use gps different route and bus number for example 14 peacehaven 12aeastbourne etc
@Thebusdriverphotographer10 ай бұрын
The gps on the buses don’t actually tell you which way to go It’s more a tracking system and tells use our timings As for knowing the routes The first 2 weeks in service your with a mentor where you cover all the routes at that garage It’s very repetitive so it generally doesn’t take long to learn the route

@Thebusdriverphotographer Жыл бұрын
Its a guaranteed paid 39 hours your not paid for 30 minutes of your break the rotas are made up of early middles and lates ranging from 0430 start to about 0100 finish obviously buses run all week so we do work weekend

@Thebusdriverphotographer is it over 4 days or 5? Like on this video you worked around 10 hours before breaks. So 9/10 hours over 4 days?
