Why is everyone obsessed with Andreas, Marcus or Ben's editing? They are just editing the videos that Jon shot. Editing is easy, the hard work here makes Jon because you can't imagine how hard it is to shoot different video content every day. So appreciate Jon more than the editors.

Besnik Ibrahimi You really have no idea how much work goes into editing man, there's a reason movie studios pay top money for good editors, now imagine having to sit through 150gb of video files from 4 different cameras and 2 drones then editing them together, colour grading, finding the right music all while keeping it up to the top quality job wants that usually takes around 4-6 hours to do, then on top of that he's out all day filming jon doing stuff and somehow still needs to find time to sleep and eat, filming a video is just as hard as editing it.

Haha yeah I do photography professionally for work he uses Adobe premier pro for video editing and a mix of lightroom and photoshop for pictures :) theres a subscription deal to get lightroom and photoshop for around 18 euros a month if you want to get started.

I am video editor myself and I understand your point. But if you know the process of editing then it is very easy everything else: music, exporting (different cameras, drone footage etc) I understand. But Jons work should be appreciated equally like the editors. I agree with your last statement: "filming a video is just as hard as editing it."

I feel like both Andreas and Benjamin have a lot they could learn with each other. Andreas is an amazing editor, knows how to work with sound and transitions very well while Benjamin clearly knows how to make the vlog a lot more personal. I would love to see both working together! It would take a lot of pressure away from all of them and I feel like the quality of the videos would increase a great deal.

Andreas is a better storyteller in terms of editing he cut at the right moments sound design was a lot better pacing was onpoint. One thing difference i saw from benji and andreas and also people pointing out was that benji was more open/comfortable being filmed, for example the first day benji was with jon he was very responsive to what jon was saying giving the vlog a bit of a Marcus vibe . Andreas always being behind the camera, he looked a bit shy when he was infront and that's normal he just needs time to get comfortable. However benji is not better than Andreas in editing the last three vlogs have so many jump cuts, sound was very poorly done, music didnt fit what was visually shown It felt like they were rushed. I'm not hating benji but the last vlogs were not upto par with either what andreas or jon him self did when he was alone. But then again that's just my opinion.

BalMó Films it's a good question, I think he would keep it if the files weren't that big. I think he quickly has 1-2 terabyte of footage per day, which is of course almost impossible to keep. unless you have tons of huge HDD's of course but that's not handy :p

Well that has been epic. I blew my knee out 7 days ago and while lying on the sofa bored I came across this Vlog, I am now up to date after watching all 325 of them. Cheered me up no end it has. Hi Martin, glad to hear you want to get into photography! as a professional photographer I'd highly recommend lightroom, it has everything you could need and is in my opinion the most beginner friendly to use :) once you start getting into it more capture one/photo mechanic and photoshop should be your next step however i'd still continue using lightroom instead of replacing it for one of those

If you're looking for paid alternatives (unless you plan on getting it through pirating) then Adobe Lightroom is your best shot. If you want a free alternative, check Raw Therapee or Darktable, they'll do the job just fine. ;)

Benji is a cool positive guy for the vlog, but Andreas is a real editor which gives something new. Benji is more likely just helping you with the vlog, when Andreas is working as an good filmer/editor.

Hey Jon: On Windows PCs you can configure the laptop "to do nothing" (i.e. not to sleep) when you close the lid, meaning that you don't need to balance an open laptop when rendering running at airports. I guess you can do the same on an Mac?!

I've seen all of the videos Marcus edited and he is very very good. Andrees is good also. Not to break balls and I know everyone will agree with me, there is a huge difference in video quality. I don't know if it's the gear or color grading but it's not even the same. Bens video quality is not even on par with Marcus or andeees. It's not equipment, it's the coloring. Shit you have 100k worth of equipment. Like Casey nesitat said you can have the best equipment but editing is the key.
