I watched this series on our PBS station - he is no longer living but donated his cabin/property as parkland; he is one of the “original” homesteaders. He built his cabin, made tables, chairs - everything ….. very similar to you, Brucke. He also made the first maps of uncharted land/lakes for many miles in Alaska. He caught fish, ate mountain goat, etc - dug a cellar to keep his perishables cool. Built a small building on stilts, very high, to keep his meat for the winter… too many bears at that time in the wilderness of Alaska. Have to Google to see if you can get a copy of the videos. What an education; “Dick Proenneke was absolutely amazing!

あ～ぁ、残念。折角、ランプちゃんが頑張って飼い主さんに見習って自分でお家を作ってたのに・・・。犬は人間に飼われる以前は、ウサギみたく穴を掘ってその中で暮らしてたんで今でもその習性がこうして残ってます。お手てで飼い主さんに止めて、ってしてるのが分かってちょっぴり可哀そうに感じました。でもこの仔はBruckeさんに貰って頂いてとても伸び伸びと暮らせて幸せな仔だとは思います。ローデシアンリッジバックとラブのミックスみたいな、とても美しい犬です。
