So many things I miss about those old trucks. Some are covered in other comments. I miss how you didn't have to move around to see the guages. Today's trucks several are hidden under the steering wheel.

Yes you only see speedometer. It is 10mph off. Truck is on Budd wheels. It came with 10x20's but now has 10x22's. That is why speedometer is off. So i was keeping it close to speed limit

To me 6-71 sounds so different in a Brockway.
@bj99ful12 жыл бұрын
There doesn't look to be much if any padding or insulation in the cab. The old Detroit sound would come through loud and clear

I think the reason for Brockways to sound like they do with 6-71's is where the exhaust drops from manifold. Between 5 and 6 cyl. Most cabovers and conventionals of all makes and models had them out center or back. GMC 9500's were between 1 and 2. I always thought Brockways had a special sound with that 6-71 just a screamin

+Shane Fields The ATHS has a publication called the Wheels of Time. In the back of each issue there are five or six pages of rigs for sale. Some pricey, some not so pricey. Old trucks are easier to get into price wise than classic cars if you ask me.
