Lando’s crash at Spa in 2021 was when my opinion of Seb went from almost zero to stratospheric, he was the only driver who wanted to make sure Lando was OK and wouldn’t move off until he saw Lando wave to show he was not seriously injured. Had the stewards and race control listened to him about throwing the red flag when the rain came down that hard Lando would have been P1 on the grid as his time was incredible but the crash saw him have to miss the race and Max got to start in P1 then follow the safety car for a couple of laps and “win” I miss Seb being in F1, he was one of the greats just like Max, Lewis and Michael Schumacher.

Fernando's crash in Australia covered from practically every angle as he barrel rolled through the air sticks out in my mind. In hindsight, it was watching this corner, knowing Brundle had equally crashed there some years ago, this major crash happens, on tv we're seeing all this dust and debris and not even realizing he was there to begin with, dust clears, and you see this body clamor out of this shred of the survival cell which was all that was basically left of the car. On tv everyone's reacting to the first car, and a split second later, you're realizing Fernando has survived the unthinkable in one piece. He was in an entire car and then just basically popped out of nothing alongside a wall. Didn't think there were any miracles left in F1 until years later, seeing Grosjeans crash where quite literally every single safety feature was tested all at once. What Fernando said later, about needing to jumpout to show his mom he was okay, still resonates in my mind. These guys are someone's kid, brother, husband, father...and we all want them to go home safely. Kudos to all the safety features and all the people who fought even against the drivers wishes to get them bolted to these cars.

you are punished for your actions, never the ultimate outcome. Lewis drifted wide on a first lap incident, clearly unintentional. Yes it lead to a huge crash which is unfortunate and really bad for Max but there's no way Lewis intended or desired that outcome. He made a mistake and the mistake was punished. As for Fernando, if you look at the analysis, he deliberately braked early to unsettle the car behind. He then tried to cover it up by radioing in that "his brakes felt funny" on the back straight whilst pumping the brake pedal randomly at speed: he knew he had done wrong, maybe didn't mean to make George crash, but definitely tried to put take him off guard by driving erratically. This is an intentional action which is dangerous. TLDR: Lewis made a mistake which led to nasty consequences. Fernando deliberately tried to unsettle the car behind.

He just put a man in hospital and then went on to celebrate like he'd won the championship. I lost every last shred of respect I had left for Hamilton that day.

Awesome compilation! - Now I'm wondering... is there any driver who has never had an accident on F1?... or is it like the thing about cyclists that says "there are only 2 types: those who have already crashed and those who are going to crash" (or the third type like me who somehow got caught in the loop)

Just the moment of George's car flipping Zhou's, he was under it for a moment, could've nicked George too if it wasn't for the Halo.

I've not followed F1 since Schumacher retired (crap, I'm old -.-) - and when I first heard about the HALO my biggest concern was "Isn't that gonna impact the driver's vision?" But when I heard A DRIVER confirm that no, it doesn't I immediately went to "Safety first! Everything else comes after." And I can't understand anyone who doesn't share this opinion.

Zhou crash can get so much worse. The roll hoop had failed on Sauber, leaving only the Halo protecting Zhou head from impact on the ground.

So I’m confused as to why when someone crashes they don’t radio all the cars to slow down or put out caution lights. I know it’s not always a full course yellow but come on, that car sitting in the middle of the track? Plenty of time to tell everyone to slow down and watch out.

Alonso Brazil 2003 was bad, however, i would put Australia 2016 higher on the list. I mean honestly... everyone who saw that live, has to agree... To all who didnt see it. During the race, the camera cut to turn 5 and showed Gutierrez standing next to his car in the gravel and even the commentators were like "Thats Esteban, but why is he stuck in the gravel. The camera zoomed out and in the barrier there was just a smoking pile of scrapmetal, only a 1/3 of the size of an F1 car. Everyone was like "What is that?" And just like that, Alonso crawled out of that. Saying "Mum is watching, i had to show, im ok!" chills...
