Any crucial and relevant evidence has to be disclosed to both the defense and prosecution before the trial. In a fair trial, the records of James’s infertility and knowledge that his mother is alive wouldn’t be a surprise, hidden from the prosecution until the trial itself. If the defense hid that information from the prosecution, the validity of the case would be called into question and lead to huge consequences for the defense. And it would be for no good reason if the evidence was as iron-clad as that.

Sounds like the sister was jealous and greedy. She was jealous at all the money op had from her late husband and tried to pass off a baby as his to get that money out of greed. People like her aren't smart so I'm not surprised that she was actually confident that she was going to get away with no DNA test until estranged mil showed herself. People like her tend to destroy themselves by trying to pull crap like this then have the audacity to be upset that their plan didn't work and they didn't get what they wanted. Op is also better off without her egg donor. As egg donor showed that she'll always stand by her golden child despite the obvious fact that her daughter lied and is horrified that she got caught. Instead egg donor wants to blame op, the unfavorable child, for upsetting her precious daughter. Love how only when their precious daughter confessed did they see how vile she became. Typical that she tried to use her baby as a sympathy card to the judge to try to justify her unforgivable actions. She only showed that she shouldn't be a parent.

Everyone got what they deserved in the end. There was nothing about family in this at all. Your parents were only interested in the money they could get from you. They hadn't changed from when you were younger. Cast you aside, and then when things didn't go the way they wanted coming to you again for what they could get. And your sister only wanted money and what she could get her hands on to support a child by any person. But the worst thing was that the person you thought was your rock for life and would be by your side forever was killed and then to find out that he cheated on you with your sister and even your parents knew was just unforgivable. So now enjoy what you have and be kind to yourself and remember there is someone out there for you. Don't give up on the dream of ever after.

It would have been tricky to have James' bio mom accepted as such, even if she did resemble him a lot. It would have been helpful if OP had proof that she was not infertile combined with that new information - and confirmation from the testing facility that it was James who had that test. Sis and parents might not have known that James wasn't the father as not even OP knew that he was infertile. Unless Sis was already pregnant with someone else's baby before she hooked up with James. Lots of possibilities here.
