@@Snarkapotamus A guy who is "teaching" how to make money is actually not teaching how to make money because he is hiding the real trade secrets. He is just telling vague or nonspecific things on his youtube channel. Secondly, he can hide his sources from youtube viewers but he cannot hide them from Ebay or from the IRS. Ebay must have given him ample opportunities to clean up his act before they banned him for life.

@@DrTiwade - What the hell are you talking about? I've been selling online since 1996 and I can tell you with 100% confidence that there is no "real trade secrets" to be had. It's buy low, sell high, find stuff people want to buy, treat them right and you'll grow. Otherwise, you will not succeed at this and be even more bitter than you already seem to be...he's NOT guilty of doing anything wrong at this point beyond maybe poor record keeping. The bottom line is it's up to you to cultivate your sources. Me, I'm friends with several auctioneers and they have been an invaluable source of items for me to sell over the years. Start there.

Regarding this dude, he apparently was sourcing from somewhere that he did not want to disclose to Ebay. He probably could have been sourcing by unscrupulous means..probably because why then is he unable to satisfy Ebay with proper paperwork? We can understand not having paperwork for a few hundred dollars but no paperwork for 1.8 million dollars? That sounds fishy.

I do all my photos in natural light. Have a table with a west aspect and take photos either in the morning (only on a sunny day) or in the evenings on an overcast day or once the sun is down past the trees on the edge of my property to avoid glare. Even the worst of those photos are better than anything I've ever done inside with lights.

My store is slowing down lately and i'm trying to adapt. do you have set promotion %? or do you even pay attention to the recommended ebay percentage. promotional sales are getting crazy. I seen one yesterday that they were recommending 13.5%. I usually do close to recommended but no more than 7.5%

As a customer, when purchasing a used item. If the photos look too professional (like stock photos) I dont buy as think they are not the real item or has been altered so much could end up with a completely different looking item

Im not sure i understand your comment on the VA messing up the Style pull down. Correct, Basketball shoes is not in the "Style" menu on the left hand menu..... however if you Search only the words "Basketball shoes" all of the results that come up actually have "Basketball Shoes" under the Style pull down menu. So Im not sure if you've made a mistake or if i have misunderstood you. I like to add my own description to "style" so im wondering for my own sake if thats a mistake to do....

So I decided to stop editing every single photo strictly for the white background and only do the first photo. I'd like to stop editing completely but I'm still concerned about the background color. If I were to stop editing completely, the background of my photos would be a dark gray as I do flat lay on my kitchen table. I cross list manually onto Depop, eBay and my website in order to make sure each platform has the correct layout and information. Are you saying DO NOT type your own words if its not in the dropdown? I've been making sure all item specifics are filled even if I have to type something in.
