Botswana is known to have a third of the entire African elephant population - more than any other country in the world. It is believed that for every 15 people in Botswana, there is about one elephant.
Elephants are strong swimmers and love being in water, particularly the younger ones. They swim by moving all four legs while their massive bodies help them to float and their trunks act as a snorkel.
This video aims to capture the sense of wonder that viewers might experience when watching a herd of elephants crossing the majestic Chobe river with their young ones!
The video is filmed at Chobe River, Botswana (during the dry season 2024). The dry “winter” season between May to October is the best time to witness the herds of elephants crossing the Chobe River in Botswana.
