It's a high time Ghanaian politicians rethought their mentality regarding politics. It is instructive that there are fewer cabinets and management positions than the total membership of a party in every government. It's therefore unreasonable for any politician to be offended because he/she was not given a position. In my opinion, like the entire populace, what politicians should seek for is good governance/leadership which will create the enabling environment for every citizen to be comfortable with the little effort. Obviously we cannot all be in the leadership. The current spate of demonstrations by supporters of the ruling ndc party in certain constituencies against unappointment of their MPs is troubling, and defies reason and logic. These mps should know better and call their supporters to order as there is no justification for these behavior. It's hard to believe that the constituents embark on this embarrassing behavior without the instigation of their respective MPs. Again, the making of governance and its benefits all about our mps by the mps themselves is very unfortunate and unacceptable. For our politicians, their personal well-being should take precedence over the well-being of all other Ghanaians in general. That sense of entitlement must stop. The recent call on President Mahama by Afenyo Markins to revise his 60-member cabinet ceiling to a higher number and then apologize to Ghanaians, I believe was for two purposes: 1. So he could politicize it as inconsistency and untruthfulness on the part of the president, and 2. As advocate for his ndc parliamentarians colleagues who are murmuring behind the scenes because they have not been given any ministerial position. We the people have voted you to represent us, and that is an employment for you. Be content with it and serve your employers (constituents) in truth and diligence, devoid of the selfishness. PERIOD!!!!!!
