I don't know, what you'd use a mallet for, but I'm pretty sure, I want one. I am very much at the beginning of my wood working journy and getting a lathe is pretty high on my priority list.

Great idea to raise the funds and get the basics under your belt before diving in big time. Your teachers are doing great. Now, where can I get one of those "David Kellies" ?! 😄

Pallet Mallets, nice. When I am after hints and tips on using pallet wood your channel is my go to. I am making a 'priest' for a friend out of pallet wood and I wasn't 100% sure of how to strengthen the laminated handle. Now I know. Cheers Mark ( The Pallet Mallet Master) and keep up the good work. All the best, Brian.

Dale told you to put your "big boy pants on"...that's so funny! I admire you learning and experimenting on the lathe. It looks difficult but you can make some cool stuff on the thing and at least Dale can give you good advice. The colorful handles are so cute...I need to check something (talking to myself here). I can't wait to see a colorful bowl!

I had one of those lathes too, not bad as a starter but it’s not a keeper. I picked up a decent midi lathe, in hindsight a dirty big heavy one woulda been better.
