Dainer dudes & the anonymous Dane! What a doozy! That video from start to finish had me feeling warm colourful fuzzy feelings in my internal regions. I'd say emotional roller-coaster but I never came down .... emotional chairlift seems more accurate. Shoutout to good dads, good kids, good friends, good buisness & full good woodwork. Onwards.

Well I almost burst into tears at the end. My Dad was in modern terms a maker of everything and I loved his sheds and workshops. Sadly he passed away when I was thirty (before I got interesting in making things) and my kids will never know the man who I hold so dear and taught me indirectly so many lessons. I'm happy you and the boy get that precious time together!

What a wonderful sight to behold. I love it when fathers or mothers,invite their child into their shop. I started at 10 in my grampa's cabinet/furniture shop he had in an old barn he converted. From the time i could walk I was always in the shop with him. As unusual as it is, I never whined, got inpatient, poked around, or touch anything I wasnt supposed to. I adored my papa and just wanted to be with him every visit. As i went from toddler to a 6 year old, he started explaining things to me like the tools and what each one did. The by 8, I was handling all of the hand tool's and by 10 i knew how each machine worked. The power tools that he did have were his father's, so they were sturdy and still running perfectly. Ive been in love with woodworking for the past 50 years. When i retired at 50 , i gifted myself a shop so i wasn't in the smaller than a 1 car garage, garage. Great job on the bench!

@Raequest Жыл бұрын
I hope one day your girls will stay in the workshed to make a few things with you! When I was a little girl and in my teens I was often roped into helping my Grandpa with projects and I loved it as a little kid. But I didn't really appreciate those times in my teens as school was a hellscape for me and being buried alive by homework did not help, so I blew him off a lot. Then he passed away in my last year of highschool and I forever regret not spending more time with him. I'm taking up woodworking now in my thirties and I'm fumbling through it and wishing everyday that I had just spent more time with him. Not just to learn the craft but so I could have created more memories with him. Keep at it and don't give up, they'll hopefully come around! My suggestion would be to create a project idea involving maybe a current interest of theirs, it might help coax them to try. :)
