The Daisy 415 is single handendly the strongest co2 4.5 bb pistol out of the factory box unmodified, firing on average at 450 fps and 3.6 joules of force, but on a hot day it can easily pass the 500 fps closing in to 4 joules of force, and it can pass through steel cans with enter and exit wounds as if the can was made of butter. That much force on a 4.5 steel bb is enough to pierce skin, muscle, and scratch the bone, specially at close distances. Needless to say, if aimed to the head the Daisy 415 will destroy eyes, noses, teeth, and hits to the forehead can and will cause concussions. Shots to the neck can end inside the trachea, causing breathing difficulties, and if it hits the arteries it's life threatening due to bloodloss. And you have 21 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger. 21 shots to the head means the concussions will eventually give way to lesser fractures on the bone structure of the skull, causing massive head pain and possibly unconsciousness, and it takes just one BB reaching the brain to cause serious brain damage and possibly death. Very few bb pistols unmodified out of the factory box can do such a feat since they often cannot pierce through steel cans, this is because most shoot only at around 350 fps or less even 250 fps, which would go around 1,5 to 2 joules of force, which is good enough for piercing thin alluminum soda cans and harming skin tissue and eyes, but won't pierce through a steel can nor would they do enough harm to an attacker to effectively incapacitate it. The Daisy 415 is the best 4.5 bb co2 for plinking and self defense until you can get yourself a real firearm, at which point I reccomend using a 357 magnum revolver or a 45 ACP pistol hollow point bullets for great stoping power without damaging your own wrists when firing as a 500 S&W would do to an untrained hand, otherwise get a 9mm and don't even waste money on a 22 pistol. Now a 22 rifle... that's another beast entirely... but since we are at it: Rifle for hunting. Shotgun for home defense. Heck get a tank! Until then, your Daisy 415 bb gun will keep you safe against non firearm wielding attackers, and will give you hours and hours of plinking fun. 100% recomended

My Winchester Model 11, 1911 Replica with blowback will go in and out of a Campbells soup can at about 10 or 15'. Rated at 415fps.

does outside temperature affect fps ?
@andyanimacion3dАй бұрын
@CHAMPIANTICFISH yes. Hot days create more gas expansion thus more available pressure. Cold days contract gas thus less pressure. But the difference is minimal, a few fps only.

Yeah baby, but you can do much more. By cutting a little bit of the chamber plug spring guide you gain more volume, also you can grind from he chamber wall. Also by shortening the transfer striker tube the valve opens more when the hammer barrel hits. Last but not least, stretch the hammer spring. This action system looks so cheap and most cheap guns have it, but it is absolute extreme powerful. Over 4 Joules i got with mines. Anyway, with to much power you loose accuracy because the bb's spin at such a high speed that they fly a curve. Cheers mate, nice job.

That was amazing and it sparked an interest in me! Can I ask a couple of questions? Just to see if I understood what you were doing. Drilling/polishing a bit the holes in the CO2 valve helps release more gas and getting more power, right? And then you have to pre-compress the spring a bit, so it's stronger and able to hold and close the valve with the additional CO2 coming out of it?
@lnrmedia208 Жыл бұрын
Hi! You are correct on the first point. As for the preload, increasing this does not hold the valve back, it just increases the force with which the hammer strikes the valve pin allowing it to stay open a fraction longer.

If you open the gun you will see two of the 4 quarters of the valve are already drilled. You drill the other 2 sides. When you disassemble it, it's pretty obvious
@donedwards2965 Жыл бұрын
When you drilled the breach cap did you go all the way through. What size drill bit did you use?
@lnrmedia208 Жыл бұрын
You need a bit that won't damage the lip, it was 4mm maybe... only drill 80% into the cap. If you go all the way through the gun is scrap.

Great job In Poland, where I live, Daisy air rifles are very difficult to buy. These are quite exotic guns. I just noticed several pieces of this model in one store and I'm wondering whether or not to buy it. I'm afraid that the seals will be unavailable in Poland, but I really like the design of this gun. The simplicity of the design is downright charming. It looks much better than the Crosman Vigilante revolver I was also thinking about. The idea with the magazine on top is great! I have a Soviet Makarov, made by "Baikal", and although it is made of real steel for sharp weapons, the constant insertion of the 13-shot magazine sometimes annoys me. I see that this Daisy model has a very large shot valve with a large capacity. To achieve similar performance in the Makarov, I had to rebuild the entire magazine. I have to think about it if I can get some new seals for this gun if necessary.
