Daisy has a curious notion of how to rebuild trust - subvert the largest vote in British history and refuse to work with a political opponent on one of your party's longest standing goals.

@Sam-tx1tn First Past the Post. One MP per constituency. Broad voter bases, concentrating the vote enough to win in several areas. It's perfectly simple - under First Past the Post, the candidate in each constituency who gets the largest number of votes wins the seat. In 2024, that was the Liberal Democrat candidate in 72 seats. Only a churl who is sore that their chosen party didn't do better on those terms would say that's wrong; only an idiot would look at the bare facts and try to argue they aren't facts.

That's actually how a lot of MPs are, believe it or not - after all, one could be a Conservative in favour of Brexit or against Brexit, as was shown for decades right through the Brexit referendum and beyond. Every political candidate has weighed up the policy platforms of his or her political party and decided that on balance they are most aligned with their chosen party, but it is rare that they will align 100% with it.

Libdems are afrade for change. If we change the way we vote they will get less. These so-called main parties will always stop change but they want the people to accept them in power. While a majority of them have never worked in their lives. My Labour MP, brags about his parent having to work to put him through university. Fine for that. But he has never worked in his life. Always in politics. I agree with Nigel it is time for change. We have lived in the past for far too long.
