This was in my hometown of hilo Hawaii at the Waikea Center. I used to practice there. Touched hands with the roppokai instructor Hidetoshi….man had some skills . Blasted me holding him full strength. Never got a chance to feel Okamoto sensei unfortunately.

Anyone can call this fake by the way the ukes (the ones who received the technique) threw themselves. But just take note of the gurgling and struggling noises the moment the technique was applied and you know it wasn’t. This Aiki thingy is legitimate. You’ve to feel it to understand.

@@alvarosenatore7245 yeah, it's age (ah-gay) sage (sah-gay) and noshi (no-she from hiragana, のし - the shape of the letters). in aikido the first two are the up and down stroke of menuchi and it also appears in sword work as well. noshi appears heavily in judo and is shaped like a questionmark (it's actually in all the 40 gokyo no waza techniques but whether you can see it there depends on your practice). It's a circular pronation and supanation and then a capturing the kazushi and a redirection which is about as accurate a 1 sentence general description you can give of all the throws. These certainly show up in BJJ and MMA throws as well if that's your touch-point. I'm a yudansha in roppokai and I've practiced many other things and should be able to help you further. Thanks

弟子が岡本正剛先生の手を取る時は，一つルールがあって，それは「力一杯握る」というもの。 弟子が「力一杯握る」と，岡本先生が技をかけた瞬間，弟子は全身が力一杯力む状態になる。 全身が力んで硬直した状態を「合気がかかった」と言い，力みによってつま先立ちになり，背筋によってエビぞりになったりする。 堀川系の合気では，この反応が起きない場合は演技であり，動画内ではこの反応が起きているからリアルと判断できる。 全身が硬直した状態は，重心が不安定な置物のような状態なので，ちょっとした体捌きで簡単に投げることができる。 合気によって全身が硬直した状態は，色々と不自然な硬直であり，横隔膜や声帯も変な緊張状態を強いられる。 それが硬直の瞬間に変なうめき声になったり，投げられた瞬間の絶叫になったりと不自然な発声につながる。 よって，合気によって硬直した人間が投げられたときに一切発声がなかったら，それは全身の硬直がおきておらず，演技であると判断できる。 演技させられた人間は発声まで気が回らないとしたものだが，動画内では全員変な発声をしているので，堀川系合気の正常な反応をしている。 最初に「力一杯握る」のが受け手のルールと話したが，相手が逃げ腰で手を握ったりした場合，硬直した現象は起きない場合がある。 それは「力一杯握る」ことによって起きる反射が無いからであり，その場合は堀川系の合気技は成立しない。 ただし，その場合相手は既に逃げ腰なのであり，戦う必要が無いので技が不成立でも問題は無い。 大東流の演舞で特定の弟子が受けを取らされるのは，受けの技術が求められるのと，受け手がこの暗黙のルールを心得ている必要があるからである。 堀川系の合気は，「相手を筋収縮の反射によって硬直させる」のが肝であり，そこに修練の大半が費やされる。 しかし，合気には他にも多くの種類があり，相手の力を抜く，相手の神経を狂わす，相手の空間認識能力を狂わすなど様々ある。 さらに心理学的な合気もあり，塩田剛三の有名な言葉「最強の技は，自分を殺しに来た相手と友達になること」は単なる例え話ではない。 ただし，共通しているのは，いずれも芯の部分は秘匿されていて，なおかつ修練に多くの時間と労力を要する。 岡本先生がしばしば言われる「力を抜く」という言葉も，真実半分，ウソ半分だ。 合気の達人で，若いころに厳しい修練や鍛錬をしなかった者はいない。
