Its a big dilema too if you accidentally dunk your reel in saltwater then the repair shop will not be able to work on it immediately and just sit there for how many days. Then when its time for them to work on it the bearings have rusted and now they charge you more to replace those. Then worse you wait for xx amount of days again if they have to order the parts. Happened to me personally on my Certate

I don't own the Airity yet but I just used my 23' Vanquish C2000S and C2000SHG and the line management is perfect and the line just flies effortlessly off the spool compared to my 19' versions but the 23' Vanquish's don't give you that floating low inertia spin that the 19' models did. I went with the Vanquish first because they match most of my rod's. The Airity is by far better looking though. Thank's for the video. Spot on!

I used these reels side by side today. I noticed on the water the Airity felt buttery smooth and the start up inertia is not as heavy but the new Vanquish with its lighter rotation doesnt make you feel worn out after a day of use. Great review,very helpful. I live in the Netherlands where there's no Daiwa- service center.I've owned a Daiwa 20 Luvias but after frequently used for a year and a half the gears broke down. I really like the smooth feeling from Daiwa but untill I figured out a way for the maintenance issue no more Daiwa for me . Unfortunately I'm not someone who is able to do the maintenance self. Next week a Vanquish will be delivered which I ordered from Japan because I think Vanquish reels sold in Europe are made in Malysia. I was mistaken the bottom cap on the Airity can be removed easily similar to the Certate. With this reel the only way to partially service this is by unscrewing the side plates with the special socket tool. Im currently busy with my job but one of these days ill create a video since I have to do routine maintenance on my Airity also. I will send you the link to the video so you can have an idea how you can service your reel.

I apologize for the delay since ive been very busy at work but based on Daiwa's website PC stands for Power Custom. This what Daiwa archives describe what PC stands for A PC model that controls the power fight is also available All models are equipped with Daiwa’s unique waterproof durability technology mag shield in the pinion part and line roller part and fully compatible with salt water. We also have a “PC” model equipped with a deep groove spool that can secure a sufficient amount of winding thread and a round knob that demonstrates its power in power fights.

@bestthingsinceslicedrice
@bestthingsinceslicedrice Жыл бұрын
If line capacity is not an issue and you are targeting trout on a river, you can go with the Vanquish 2500s and even with only 4kg of drag. The Vanquish can still handle big fish as well since on my end I use this reel in Saltwater and was able to land a 20in size speckeled trout using 0.6pe(14.5lbs) w.o feeling under powered. If you want more versatility for the just in case consider the PC LT 2500 since it has 10kg of drag and has more line capacity. So you can have the option of running a bigger line on it compared to the Vanquish. Both reels got plenty of power so either ways you wont go wrong. Hope that helps narrow down your choice

In a year or two the Vanquish will start to deteriorate, and be less smooth, but the Airity will be smoother than anything, because of tight tolerances and superior main gear alloy (A7075 aluminum). Only the 22 Exist has this highest end aluminum alloy for gears so far, except for the new 23 Airity, and the new 23 Saltiga.

The new Daiwa Airity reel is not waterproof since accidentally dunked mine on a fishing accident and when I got home saltwater dripped out of the body.

@@bestthingsinceslicedrice probabile sia nato difettoso, se fai caso hanno eliminato la leva dell'antiritorno proprio per renderlo a tenuta stagna, e ha tutti i cuscinetti magseal.

@@MsDavide1969 the new Daiwa Airity does not have a rubber seal that would prevent water from coming inside from the pinion like what's on the Daiwa Certate SW or The Shimano Twin Power SW. I wish it was waterproof but based on my experience it was not. Magseal can only handle water splashes but complete submersion not so much
