Daiwa BG vs Daiwa BG MQ

I recently went on a head boat was having an issue with the BG MQ 4000D. Fishing for fluke on a head boat using a 4 5 6 oz spro’s with a teaser. Had a hard time bringing in the setup without a fish. Do you think there is an issue with the reel. I also have a BQ 3500

Thanks for your comment! To be honest, it is hard to tell without seeing the reel in person. A BG 4000, should have no problem brining in a 5-6 Oz sinker with no fish on. Give us a call at [phone], and we'd be happy to talk about it in more depth.

Did I hear the BG is being or has been discontinued? Is there a replacement for its price point. Or is the MQ the same class? Even though it’s a little bit more cost wise?
