Great video man! I totally feel you man, the Daiwa spools we get in North America are mostly deep (3000 size with 250-300m of line.... sheeeesh). That second half of the spool never seen daylight lol. I started buying Daiwa reels from Asian where they have the normal non-shallow spools. Those are perfect! Keep it up man!

Nice video! agreed, the D-spools are (unfortunately) to deep for most European fishing at least inland fishing with braid. Prefer the regular 2500 spool or even 2500S for finesse and braid. Not that many S models in EU. What rod do you use, the one in the beginning of the vid? Lunamis? Lengh, action and WG/casting weight? Is it classed correct in that regard?
@EdvinasUrbonas
@EdvinasUrbonas Жыл бұрын
Thank you man ✌️ it is Tailwalk Hi-Tide TZ 96ML. 5-30g ~150g weight, fast action sea bass rod witch I use for salmon fishing mainly. Don’t know what u mean “classed correct” tho🤔🤟
@andersriksson100
@andersriksson100 Жыл бұрын
@@EdvinasUrbonas thanks for the reply. Classed correct would be if the 5-30g is spot on. Read about a swede who bought a sea Bass rod, the Lunamis S90ML 5-25g for sea trout and he says it would probably handle 35g without a problem, a fast taper.
@EdvinasUrbonas

@@andersriksson100 well my rod is right there on that 5-30 limit. I would say it's accurate. But that sweet spot is around 15g

Hi. I reviewed the video again). I wanted to ask two more things. Where did you buy the spool strap, since I just use a rubber band that I wrap several times around the braid, but your version is simpler and it looks definitely better). And the second question is regarding the backlash of the rotor arms, after so many fishing, is there any backlash or the closed state of the bow?
@EdvinasUrbonas
@EdvinasUrbonas 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I got the straps in one of the pages that I gave you regarding the spool. I have no problems with the rotor or the reel in general. It spins as it did on the first day, maybe even better because you need to use it a few times to distribute the oil in the new reel :)

I think the bearings in the handle can be a disadvantage as a plastic bush will never seize or rust and it’s the handle that is most vulnerable and likely to develop a rough feeling! bb’s definitely have the ability to be shimmed tight leaving a Better initial feel but for salt and heavy fishing I find after the bb’s die I replace them with bushes! Btw the shimano bushes fit daiwa handles and last longer!
@EdvinasUrbonas
@EdvinasUrbonas 10 ай бұрын
I don't know if it's true but I've heard that the plastic bushings squeeze out the nicks on the knob axle from long use and then that area isn't much of a fix. And bb's does not cause this problem. And when it comes to salt water - there are closed spec bb's that should withstand such things.
@needmoreboost6369
@needmoreboost6369 10 ай бұрын
@@EdvinasUrbonas agreed! It’s definitely more of an issue with aluminium shafts though but plastics vs metal in wear it’s often metal that looses! , it’s the embedded foreign particles that accelerate the wear combined with inadequate service that makes it worse. For those concerned by the time they wear which will likely be several hard fished seasons! it’s time for an upgrade anyway! Ball bearings can and will fail in those extreme situations you least need it!where you might fish for a couple of weeks straight for instance I’ve had several shimano and daiwa reels fail in this way! Never an abu or budget reel Yeah I’m a shimano and daiwa fan and love my high end gear! but bushes are superior in many ways! I’ve no problem raging on shimano and daiwa for that!

I have used reels from the same brands with their foundries across the globe. And I must say for Daiwa, while made in Japan is absolutely tier-1, their Chinese plant follows a close second. Daiwa's worst foundry is their Vietnamese plant, Vietnam made reels from Daiwa are distictly lacking in packaging and finishing. Which is strange, because Daiwa is one of the more established Japanese manufacturers in Vietnam, but their quality is consistenly beaten by Shimano's Chinese 3rd party OEM houses. For Shimano, from what I had experience with, their T1 foundry is Japan, T2 being Malaysia and T3 being China. It is very much just as big a challange to get a manufacturing plant running up to speed as the product design itself, and the shifting supply issues only worsens this. Daiwa's product quality regardless of where they're made is sliding more so than that of Shimano's. Shimano seems more capable of holding the assemblies up to a "Japanese Domestic" standard than Daiwa. It is not rare to find oil/finger print on the Daiwa reels straight out of the box (I understand this could've been the vendor's fualt). I even hae a Gekkabijin MX (2018) that came perfectly wrapped but with a huge ding on the spool lip. Daiwa's non-MQ LT reels tend to come very loose after a season or two, and it is very difficult to get them serviced compared to Shimano (both brands don't offer warranty in Japan anyway, so that's another big plus for Shimano users outside Japan). So as a lifetime Daiwa fan I am really gravitating towards Shimano as my game becomes more demanding recently. Really hope daiwa can regain some grounds like they did back in 2018 and 2019 and actually have a competitive lineup again outside of Japan.

why do you need one on 1000-2500 size? Are you going to spool 200-300 m of 0.2-0.8 PE line? It's just extra work to spool backing, need to have extra line for backing and so on... Regular spool 3000 for example takes 200m of 1.2 Pe. Isn''t that enough? :)

Hi, nice video! I saw a gamakatsu hana in your film, and it so happened that I am now looking for reel for my gamakatsu hana 82 up to 24 grams. I wanted to ask what spinning model you have, because. for its 74 models with a choice, everything was simple and remains so. And with the choice of reel for 82 gamakatsu, I have difficulties, because. I would like to unleash its full potential and work with light weights at a long distance and catch zander on the lake with a total weight of load plus bait up to 24 grams, that is, 16 grams plus 4-4.5 inches. Here I have a choice between daiwa luvias 3000lt and shimano exsence 17 or 21 3000mhg, or vanquish 19 3000mhg. In shimano, I like the look of a completely black reel on a black minimalist spinning rod like a gamakatsu, but story vs this size of reel look like shallow spool on daiwa, you can find it only in Japan, and it overpriced because that. Thats why I start thinking about luvias. And the second question is about slp spools, where did you buy them, because on ebay the cost of such a spool is about 85 usd.

I feel terribly bad about this horror that is still going on. I am from Belarus, and I think that only a person who is absolutely abnormal and cut off from objective reality can consider an attack on a sovereign state, the capture of its territories, the destruction of infrastructure, enterprises, residential buildings, but first of all people, as normal. There can be no justification for this, an invasion is an act of aggression, and no one has the right to impose on another country which path of development to choose, especially through threats, through war, through destruction. I am half Ukrainian, my father, my grandfather is from Ukraine, and every year until I was 15 I went to rest with my grandmother, went fishing, enjoyed the beauty of Ukrainian nature, local traditions, everyday life, where there is a war going on now. It is very difficult to convey what I feel.

@@user-by6nd4vj2s I totally agree with you. In answer to your questions: I have a s77m Hana, I use it with Exist 19, 2000SH. Your model really needs a reel the size of 3000. Luvias would be great. If you buy JDM reel the price goes the same as the European here in Lithuanian stores, but you need to wait. Shimano vanquish is also a great reel. It is your choice :) And I got the spool from: www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/default/language/en/cPath/2174_2652_3313_5184/optional-parts/daiwa-slp-works/slpw-spool/2019-slpw-lt-type-alpha-spool.html YOU can also try japantackle.com/tuning-parts/spools-spinning-reels.html or www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/4759
